Patrick has a message over at davisdvd.com stating that he is not going to continue doing updates for the site.

I know that Patrick is a member of DVDTalk and I would like to thank him for the great website he created and mantained for many years and wish him well in all his future endeavors.

It will be missed.

That sucks, I really liked that site. I figured it was going to happen due to the lack of updates, but there are other priorities in life than posting dvd news.

Nice site. It had the scoop on lots of DVD news over bigger sites a shocking amount of the time. Lots of obvious effort there. Thanks and good luck!

That's a shame. I always felt it was one of the few BS free DVD sites out there.

If the site comes back, I wouldn't mind it if he concentrated on the section detailing alternate cuts of movies, with visual aids. That was a great area of DavisDVD, and one I enjoyed reading, but it looks like he more or less abandoned it. :( That and the section pointing horrible and derivative coverart (another neat area).

Only the best DVD news site ever! I've followed it for SIX years. Such a shame it's done now... :( At least they were the first to break the news about the new Killer SE coming soon...

I am definitely going to miss davisdvd.com. What a great resource! I especially loved the detailed previews for animation titles. Hopefully, we'll someday see another iteration of the davisdvd model, perhaps davis-hddvd.com??? Best of luck, Patrick.

I rank Davisdvd.com as the #2 DVD site on the web next to this one. Fuck the bad news on the DVD website front just keeps coming in.

That's not a surprise since they haven't updated since September 30, 2007

I'd been checking every day since the last update, Sep. 30th & was hoping it was just a long vacation. Really sorry to see it go. It was topnotch.

I remember the glory days of DVD when I first got a player in 1998, I would go on to DVDFile, Digitalbits, DavisDVD everyday, and there would be something new I could look forward to buying. I miss the good ol days of anticipating new titles, that would enable me to throw away those crappy VHS tapes.

Well, remember it has been 10 years for many of us. I still haven't visited HTF and it has been months. Sometimes I'm just not interested.

I've tried to generate some enthusiasm in the Movie Talk section and it has been tough. People are becoming increasingly apathetic. I blame internet porn. :)

Someone didn't notice my join date :(

I've only discovered Davisdvd last year around the same time as DVDactive and i always thought DVDactive had much better news and releases. But yeah it sucks that it's gone for now.

DavisDVD was the first DVD website I found and Patrick was always cool enough to print my scoops when I had them. It is doubly sad that this happens on the same day that the guy from film ick says he's been feeling the same fatigue, although at least he isn't done, yet.

I was wondering why it wasnt being updated. Used to be one of my favs. Good luck Patrick!
