Most of the time I just pickup the 1 disc release. Although it really depends on the movie.

I usually wait to get the 2 disc versions of recent films at Sam's Club when they get them in at $9.99 each

I try to get the best version possible especially if I know I like the movie. Hairspary is one am going to go and get the best deluxe ed that comes out. I hate that they want us to pay $10 or what ever when it was included before like Harry Potter 4 I enjoyed the movie but have yet to pick it up because am waitin on a good price for the 2 disc.

If I'm buying the movie, that usually means I like it enough to get the two-discer.

Most of the time I get the 2-discer if I'm buying the movie initially versus deciding on an "upgrade" or not. If the 1-disc version or original version is alright and is anamorphic, I might wait and try to get the 2-disc upgrade via a gift, gift certificate, trade-in, used, etc.

I always, always go with the super duper special edition. I love fancy boxes, bonus discs, and any memorbilia that might go along with the film.

I also will double or even triple dip movies I bought years ago that were re-released, such as Misery and Return Of The Living Dead recently.
