I really honestly don't mean this in a bad way at all, but the single-disc art looks like one of those cheesy 80s scifi/horror movies on VHS. But saying that, I'm loving the single-disc cover, and not too thrilled with the 2-disc :(

Anyone else is crazy enough to buy BOTH steelbooks? Making us choose between the Autobot or Decepticon steelbook is torture!

The collectioneur in me wants to buy both but my common sense AND wallet aren't too sure about that!

I'd love to know that i'm not alone in wanting both steelbooks!

I LOVED the movie and i'm such a sucker for sweet steelbooks!

Youre one of those blessed to have an easy access to both steelbooks

My assumption is that you are from the Great North?

Matthew Ackerly 09-06-07 09:00 AM

I hope Best Buy gets these steelbooks.

Not me. Although I did buy both the 300 Future Shop steelbook and the Best Buy Spartan Helmet giftset ... but that was two different exclusives. With Transformers, I'm inclined to get the Decepticon version of the steelbook.

nateman 09-06-07 10:04 AM

Goodie, me love Steelbooks. That’s the second time I’ve said that today!

islandclaws 09-06-07 11:45 AM

I would assume there are going to be a plethora of exclusives for this release, so steelbooks are certainly a possibility for those of us not in Canada. I would assume everyone already knows this is getting a definite double dip considering the extended cut hits theaters about a month before this release and this is only the theatrical cut. I'm sure a multi-disc extended edition will come out sometime early next year-ish. I'll still get the 2-disc Autobot cover in Oct, though.

Big Worms 09-06-07 11:48 AM

This movie is going to cost me money! I can easily see them coming out with 2 different covers, theatrical cut this time, extended cut later on. Damn want it all!

Rammsteinfan 09-06-07 11:55 AM

Michael Bay stated that the IMAX version is 2 mins longer. Hardly worth upgrading in the future for that. Ill stick w/ the 2 disc coming out.

Defiant1 09-06-07 09:00 PM

That Decepticon Steelbook is mine!!!

who said that was crazy?!

Count me in as one of "those people" who enjoy Michael Bay movies. I thought this movie was by far the best popcorn movie of the summer. I enjoyed this movie so much, if we had one HD format, I would probably go out and buy a player just to buy this one in HD.

I just want to know that there are other people who would buy BOTH steelbooks, If i'm not the only one it'll make me feel less bad about it! :P

Myself, I'm debating on getting both Autobot and Decepticon covers, depending on the price when it hits the stores. Currently, it's listed at $29.99 with $5 instant savings. If it actually hits the shelves at $34.99, it might be a hard sell to get both.. The 2-disc version is currently at $28.99..

Since it's a FutureShop exclusive, I assume that can charge whatever they want because no one else can claim that have a lower price for it, but $5 more is a bit too much..

BTW: has any Americans that live close to the boarder made a trip just for something like this? I recall when the X-men 3 steelbook came out, a sales rep was talking to an older couple that there been some travelers from the US that came by for it.. The particular location would probably be the first stop once the highway 99..
Later

It'll definitely still be $29.99 for the steelbook at Future Shop when it hits the shelves. This is the standard pricing they've used for all their recent steelbook releases (The Departed, 300, etc).

Yeah, Steelbooks cost the studios a lot to produce. I don't see them dropping in price.

Players are $230. Not especially expensive.

I actually like the 1-disc artwork. The 2-disc artwork looks... preliminary.

Personally I'm debating buying the 1-disc just for the cover art and switching the inserts with the 2-disc... yeah I know I'm weird...

ds6161 09-08-07 04:46 PM

Hey we still need to find out who will have the dreaded extra disc.. extra poster & cards..
The steelbooks are just the start..
unless this stuff is free just give me the cheapest 2 disc set...

Well, if they made more of them and shipped them to more places in the world, instead of shipping most Steelbooks to one friggin' shop in Canada, the price would be reduced. :)

two minutes - come on, those extra two minutes couldn't have been included in the already long inital theatrical cut

toddly6666 09-08-07 05:56 PM

Eventhough I prefer Decepticons over the Autobots, I really can't stand looking at the vague face of Megatron. Optimus Prime is clearer and not an eye ache.
Is it a face of a Decepticon or is it an Eskimo??

I never saw the cartoon or had any of the toys, but I was entertained and think it has a high rewatchability factor. Looking forward the the DVD release.

Pfft, come on! You guys in the states get ALOT of cool shit, let us have some once in awhile!

Do you know how hard it is to find stuff to buy online? Almost everything is U.S related. And Shipping fees are ridiculous! Plus you can't forget the crappy conversion rate (even though it's been pretty good these past weeks!).

So let us have our kick ass steelbooks! :D
