Is that enough time to come up with a packed 2 disc SE. I'm betting on a huge double dip. If so I'll rent it (never saw it in the theater) and if it is at least decent I'll pick up the SE.

Rammsteinfan 09-03-07 01:40 AM

If the IMAX version has more footage, im sure it will be re-released later on or will it be out that quickly?

Big Worms 09-03-07 11:06 AM

Awesome news! Bring on the HD-DVD version!

Bigjames 09-04-07 03:26 PM

Just thought I would confirm this even more. I work at Blockbuster and we got the release dates for our October and Transformers is on there for the 16.

Yavin 09-04-07 03:31 PM

I would've figured more of a November/December timeframe for release date, given the size/scope of this picture, but the earlier the better I suppose. As long as the 2-disc set is worthwhile. I'm in.

Giles 09-05-07 08:58 AM

that's kind of quick if you ask me. So let me get this straight, the home video versions are the theatrical cut and the upcoming IMAX version is an expanded cut... is there going to be a future double dip version on the horizon??

And there is just a 1-disc version that only includes Bay's commentary.

dman988 09-05-07 11:10 AM

Damn, I thought the 2-disc was standard. Oh well.

Let's just hope they don't decide to double-dip. :/

The Valeyard 09-05-07 11:10 AM

That looks like a Steelbook!

DJariya 09-05-07 11:32 AM

I wonder if we'll see the man behind the voice (Peter Cullen) doing any interviews on the DVD. Bay does have some very good commentaries and I look forward to hearing his thoughts on the movie.

I think the DVD folks should have actually gotten Shia, Cullen and Megan Fox to do a commentary together...now that would have been a hoot to listen to.

TRC 09-05-07 11:46 AM

That two-disc artwork looks fantastic. Extras sound pretty good too.

As I hoped and expected, Futureshop will be selling a steelbook edition.

Simpson Purist 09-05-07 12:12 PM

Wow that was much sooner that I expected, I thought they were saving this for the holiday period.

Looks like a fantastic set, though I can't help but feel there's gonna be a "unrated" version somewhere along the line.

Bandit03 09-05-07 12:44 PM

Love the artwork for the 2-disc, but I have a feeling that its not final.

cisman 09-05-07 12:44 PM

Awesome....It makes since as they are releasing the score to the film in October as well. October will be a great month....

I knew they were going to have separate Autobot and Decepticon steelcases. But the cover art for those two steelbooks looks very uninspired and bland. Hopefully, as with the 2-disc cover art, it is only placeholder art. It sure looks that way to me. I hope they go with the Autobot and Decepticon themed one sheets for the steelbooks. Otherwise, I'll probably go for the regular 2-disc release.

Columbia House has all 3 versions up for pre-order and the artwork is the same for the 2-disc. Looks like they are using the 2-disc art temporarily for the HD-DVD on their site also. The single disc art is pretty cool in my opinion too.

Of course. But I'm still buying it. I can see the double-dip waiting until the sequel though, so that's a couple years away.

I imagine it's the 2-disc edition right?

Tom Woodward 09-05-07 06:34 PM

The single-disc artwork is up now. Still awaiting the HD art

That single disc artwork looks a bit silly. I'm used to the "floating head" covers, but this might be a first that we have "floating robot heads"

That was the same artwork as one of the posters.
