The director of Good Bye, Lenin! is joined on his commentary by Tom Tykwer (Run Lola Run).

The only movie on that list he didn't direct is Patton, which he wrote (and got an Oscar for). Maybe that's the one you're thinking of?

The disc in question was a freebie bonus that came packaged with McSweeney's No. 11.

McSweeney's is a literary journal with a humorous slant that's published by Dave Eggars. Issue 11 was printed as a hardcover book with a bonus "Making Of" DVD. On it were various readings by the authors and a TV spoof called "Literary Cribs", in which a camera crew invaded the tiny hovels that the writers live in.

Coppola provides commentary over "The Making of McSweeney's No. 11", which he is watching for the first time as he speaks, with no volume of course. It's hilarious. Having no idea what's going, he winds up filling the time by saying things like, "I don't know who this woman is, but she's awfully nice to look at. I would like to get to know her better. Oh, here we seem to be in someone else's office. I wonder what this person is talking about...."

The disc also includes a "Making of The Making of McSweeney's No. 11" special.

What about commentaries by actors turned directors on one of their old films they stared in?
