The original UK version of The IT Crowd is being released in R1 on 9/4/07. It seems to have the same features as the R2 release.
There's no link for it in DVDTalk's Coming Soon section, nor any pre-order info on Amazon. But DeepDiscount has it available for just $13.71.

Here's a couple of tastes:

- 2 sets of audio-commentaries for all episodes (1-6)
- Commentary One – Writer/Director Graham Lineham
- Commentary Two – Writer/Director Graham Lineham and actors Chris O'Dowd (Roy) and Katherine Parkinson (Jen)
- "Geek" sub-titles (there are Geek subtitles for all 6 episodes. These are subtitles written in computer language; five are general/universal computer language and one is a bespoke computer language invented by the IT consultants on the production)
- Cast and crew credit pages
