I notice quite a few people getting both Blu-Ray & HD releases, showing they have both formats, but choosing to get 300 in BD, just curious why then the PQ is near exact & the HD has exclusive content.

If they don't care about the exclusive content, the Blu-ray version is typically cheaper since you aren't forced to pay a little extra for the DVD side on the HD-DVD/DVD combo.

I would've preferred the Blu-Ray version, but I am a sucker for having "all" the available content. As long as the HD-DVD version plays without stuttering/locking up, I'll be ok with it.

Pathfinder Unrated and 20 Million Miles to Earth SE (both 2-discers) did not make your list, but I will eventually pick up both on a blind buy and trade or sell them if I don't like them. 300 2-disc SE is a no-brainer as well.
