Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Version 2.0
Starting thread at moderators request.
Repeating the previous rules: The thread is to have a discussion on all wrestling DVD related topics. There is another thread, which I have to update, that has the upcoming DVD releases. For weekly wrestling discussion, you can go to the Sports forum at DVDTalk, where MovieExchange keeps a very nice weekly thread with all the news pertaining to pro wrestling. He even has Pay Per View contest! Don't post active ebay auctions. Don't talk about bootlegs. Don't threadcrap. And please keep general wrestling discussion on the Sport section of DVDTalk. Let the talking begin.... |
I guess I'll post the first news in here. We got the Vengeance DVD at Blockbuster today and the Bonus disc has Orton & King Booker Vs. Lashley & Cena and The Hardys Vs. Cade & Murdoch.
|
Don't see why the hell it matters how long a post is, and why it should be closed just to start a new one...
Anyways, I'm hoping the BB I get my WWE dvds from still has One Night Stand on Tuesday. I haven't had a chance to go there till then, but at least I should be able to get Vengeance. |

The Best of Raw: 15th Anniversary Edition (match compilation) The Legacy of Stone Cold Steve Austin (match compilation) Andre The Giant (biography plus matches) Batista Unleashed (match compilation) The British Bulldog (biography plus matches) The Rock: The Most Electrifying Man in Sports Entertainment (biography plusmatches) Complete Hell (Hell in a Cell match compilation) SummerSlam: The Complete Anthology (20 Disc Box Set) Triple H (career biography plus match compilation) The Life and Times of Mr. Perfect (biography plus matches) Macho Madness: The Randy Savage Story (biography plus matches) Edge: The Rated R Superstar (match compilation) "Superfly:" The Jimmy Snuka Story (biography plus matches) The Evolution of The Hardys (biography plus matches) Mayhem Outside the Ring (Compilation of the best backstage moments in history) Best of Starrcade (Multi-disc match compilation of WCW's signature event) Owen Hart (biography plus matches) The Ricky Steamboat Story (biography plus matches) Sting (biography plus matches) Shane McMahon (match compilation). |
all of those would be great. well maybe not the Batista one, but i'd still get it.
|
Yeah the only one I think I would pass on is Batista. Everything else would be sweet! Funny that Stone Cold's set is listed on that, considering a lot of websites had it scheduled to come out early August, but now I guess it isn't. Jeeeez....2008 is going to be expensive.

Where's the link to the poll? WWE.com shows me nothing.
|
not dvd news...but....
It is with a sad heart that I must report that John Kronus, better known to fans as one-half of the popular former ECW Tag Team Championship team The Eliminators with Perry Saturn, was found dead today in his apartment in New Hampshire. As of right now, there are no further details as to what lead to Kronus's death. We will keep you informed as more information is released, and all of us here at LOP wish to express our condolences to the friends and family of John Kronus during this time of mourning. |

I ordered this from TNA: https://store.nexternal.com/dns/images/VRSpecial2.jpg
Can't wait to get it. Will be putting up the DVDs for sale to get most of my money back. |
Count me in as one who would get all of those potential WWE sets listed with the exception of Batistsa, Summer Slam (not a big enough fan to own all of them on DVD) and possibly Triple H (depends on the match listing). I would love to see a Starrcade anthology but I realize that is unlikely. At the very least I wish they would release a Starrcade set from 1983 to 1987 which were the "golden years" of the Jim Crockett Promotions era that I watched religiously.
|
I'm interested in seeing what they would do to all the Chris Benoit footage in SummerSlam: The Complete Anthology.
Though I probably won't be buying it anyway, if they remove Benoit it will be a definate no-no. Regardless of the circumstances it would be just wrong to delete the footage. |

Why do they have to tease us?... we all know there is no chance of Macho Madness DVD coming out soon… anybody who has watched WWE programming or purchased any WWE DVDs over the past few years knows that WWE refuses to admit his greatness and tries at all cost to even acknowledge his existence. Only Chris Benoit’s legacy and contributions will be more forgotten than those of Savage.
Also… I must ask, why is there no mention of the multi disc compilation "The Life & Limericks of Leaping Lanny Poffo"??? |

anyone knows that the Royal Rumble Anthology Box has been discontinued? What´s the reason for this, Chris Benoit? It disapeared from most major online stores or is there a way to get this box for a good deal for internatinal customers?

It was discontinued before the Chris Benoit thing went down. WWE carry these big sets for a limited time only. |

Also, not DVD related but relevant to the topic, but Jakks tried to sign Savage for a Classic Superstars figure but they were denied permission by WWE. However, WWE allowed Jakks to sign Bret Hart (long before there were any talks between him and Vince), Bruno Sammartino, Honky Tonk Man, and even the Ultimate Warrior (twice!!). So if Bret, Bruno, and Warrior were given the green light one can only begin to imagine what it must be with Savage (and people have imagined quite a few things regarding the above mentioned rumors) |

Think about it: Hogan and Bischoff literally tried to ruin Vince's life and take down his empire and he signed both their paychecks. Sable sued Vince for millions and he signed her check. Bret and Bruno both signed up for a Jakks figure. Warrior signed up twice for a Jakks figure. So while the Savage/Steph urban legend may be false, I can see why people would think "it must be this reason Vince hate Savage so much" |

Well, I finally pulled the trigger on something I wanted to order from wwe shop.com but never felt an urgency to pull that said trigger.
It's not quite the wm anthology leather bound, but hell it's something.... Here's the wwe shop Mcmahon dvd package. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...cmasta/013.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...cmasta/012.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...cmasta/011.jpg |

Damn. Now I'm feeling tempted to get this :( (and I already gave the Vince DVD).
I guess I could get most of my money back if I buy this and then sell the DVD and shirt. |
That's the exact same dvd, just with an autograph, right?

After watching Smackdown tonight......maybe there will be a Best of the Great Khali DVD one day. :)
I find it funny that about a year ago he was supposed to be in a Punjabi Prison Match (which was billed as his signature match) at the GAB PPV but was pulled because the WWE didn't think he could pull off a good match on live tv......but yet somehow he is the CURRENT SMACKDOWN CHAMP........words can not describe this. Atleast they could have thrown Mark Henry a bone after all these years. LOL |
