Whatever happened to the Vista Series?
The Vista Series just popped into my mind randomly and I was wondering whatever happened to it? There were only like 6 releases, and the last was The Village, correct? Do they go under a different name now? Did they find they didn't sell as much as they expected? I tried looking it up on Google, and I tried searching the forums, but came up with nothing. Anyone know?

They are no longer made. Even The Village was an inferior Vista Series disc. The Sixth Sense, Unbreakable, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Tombstone, etc. were all 2-discers. Signs and The Village ended that trend. Too bad, the original releases were nice looking and quite loaded.

Pearl Harbor was also a Vista (the 4 disc release)
I think the Vista Series was dead before Signs came out, but since both of M Nights previous movies were Vista releases, they just threw the logo up there for continuity.

A shame, cause I was really hoping for a Dick Tracy Vista release.
Chalk it up with Fox's 5 Star Collection, Universal's Collector's Series, and countless other "series" that ended over the years.

Microsoft bought the name and used it for its latest operating system.
Just kidding; I don't know. They probably just decided not to have a special label. It really isn't needed because they can still produce quality titles without it.

It's depressing that High School Musical can get 16 different variations of a DVD release, but the long-rumored Dick Tracy SE with director's cut and anamorphic versions of Summer of Sam and Dead Presidents, among many, many, many others, get left out in the cold. That said, I miss the Vista Series; Tombstone, Roger Rabbit...all good stuff.

speaking of the Vista series.....
why is TOMBSTONE (Vista) still so expensive ??
DD have it for around $22. And what's so 'special' about it - for a 2 disc set - it seems to have very little in the way of extra features (about 27min of featurettes) and a DVD ROM 'game (as per the reviews on this site). It doesn't appear to be anything 'special' for maintaining this price (or does BV simply like keeping the price HIGH on certain titles .... like the Sin City 2 disc set ???)
