Simpsons sixth season in the 'regular' box found at costco.

I haven't seen this posted anywhere and it isn't even up at Amazon to buy the regular box style instead of the homer head for the sixth season of the simpsons. I was shocked when I saw it at Costco this afternoon. They had an end cap where the dvds are and all the simpsons were 22.99 seasons 1-9 as I recall. This box is in the same style as 7-9. I have waited for this box because I have refused to buy the Homer head and it finally paid off. I searched for it on dvdspot as well and I was the first person to own it. yay! Go to Costco if you are in the same boat as I was. UPC is 024543456353

thanks for the pics!

i was hoping to get this set as part of FYE's $9.99 after rebate deal, but NONE of my FYE's had it. i don't really want to double-dip on that just for the box, but i really hate the open top ones they sent out as a replacement for the homer head. i wonder if they'd send one of these new boxes out now that they're being mass-produced? probably not. at least the inserts and everything else are exactly the same. i thought they might've changed the booklet.

Same here. Making a box with no top was pretty stupid.

Has anyone seen these anywhere other than CostCo or Ebay?

Yeah that "open-top" box sticks out among my Simpsons DVD collection. Still nice to see that they finally repackaged the set in it's alternate form.

i've seen them at several other B&M stores. i think it just depends on what the store is ordering, since it is an older season set. my local best buy and target stores both had em. i also saw all of the new season-sets w/ movie tickets at several borders stores.

I wonder if these will be making their way to B&M stores in Canada. The S6 Homer head packaging is what made me stop collecting the Simpsons seasons. Maybe I'll start up again once these later seasons get re-priced.

Thanks for posting, I figured they would have to come out with these at some point but hadn't heard anything until now.

Yeah, no kidding. All mine does is collect dust. I'd love to upgrade just for that if I can find it somewhere I can do a swap.

Same... if anyone finds it anywhere else keep everyone posted... I'd love to purchase this and finally do away with that head packaging once and for all (the replacement case wasn't good enough).

UPDATE: It's available on Overstock.

I saw them in both Circuit City and Virgin yesterday, and the boxes were marked down as a promotion for the movie.

Saw these today at my local Suncoast on sale for $19.99. Not bad considering you also get the movie ticket. But I still don't know if I'd double-dip just for the box...

i think i will sell my homer head for this version; i hate that plastic piece of shit so much. the combined movie ticket would make this a low-cost DD.

Personally I like the "head packs", though I can see everyones point w/ the slipcover, the insert on the back of the case, the way it opens, and all the crap that falls out once you do get it open does get annoying. I don't think it looks that bad next to the other sets, and its not like I watch them everyday, I only worry that as I do watch them I am progressively wearing the packaging out.

I haven't seen this at the FYE I work at yet. I've copied the barcode down, so I'll see if I can get a couple copies in.
