The Missing Reel is just as it was theatrically.
The only noticeable additions that I remember off the top of my head:
> A scene with Cherry in the bathroom at JT's.
> A scene with the Blocks when they're getting out of bed.
> Earl McGraw at the police station with El Wray is booked.
> JT talking to the two zombies outside before they come in and attack.
There are also dialog extensions here and there as well. I know this movie too well due to the multiple times I saw it in theaters.
I was also falling asleep last night while trying to watch it, so I'll try again later this week.

Apparently the frame isn't opened up like Once Upon a Time in Mexico was for it's home release. It's cropped on the sides down to 1.78:1 from the 2.35:1 theatrical version which was already matted from 1.78:1 raw footage. I'm just scratching my head at this point.

so it's not the 1.78 raw footage? why wouldn't they just use that? didn't get the chance to see the film in theaters, but does anyone know if the framing is effected heavily by this?i'm assuming if he framed for 1.78, then cropped to 2.35, then maybe when he intentionally left space on both the top AND bottom of the frame knowing he might cut it down again for video release. i almost wanna hold off on this release because i feel almost like i'm buying a foolscreen version. but i really wanna get the matching steelbook...

Yes. There's a commentary.
Disc one is the film plus commentary. In terms of video extras, we only have theatrical trailers (international trailers for Planet Terror and Death Proof along with other Weinstein properties).

Oh by the way, before it becomes a huge debate, here is what is added to the film (from what I remember)...
> The opening credits have been reformatted to fit the 1.78:1 frame.
> There's a new scene with the Blocks waking up before going to work.
> There's a new scene with Cherry in JT's bathroom picking glass out of her leg after getting ran off the road in the beginning.
> Extensions to the scene where JT's talking to the two zombies before they attack him in the restaurant.
> A new scene in which an surgeon asks Doc Block (in subtitles) about if he wants to witness cutting off Nicky Katt's character's arm. This explains later on why the character has a saw in his hand when attacking Doc Block.
> A new scene in the police station where Earl McGraw is introduced.
> The attack outside of the police station has additional gore.
> The attack outside and inside of the hospital has a shit load of more gore (people are just torn the fuck apart) plus more footage, including brief scenes here and there such as when Tom Savini's character accidently shoots a hospital patient.
> Additional footage when everyone enters JT's restaurant.
> More gore when the zombies start attacking the restaurant.
> Just a bit more gore during the final battle sequence.
There's brief dialog additions here and there, but none of them are worthy of being noted in detail. However, if you want to get into technical detail, all of this material only takes up an additional 13 minutes. Just like Death Proof, the additional material doesn't hurt it and it's frantic pace is still there.
Remember, Planet Terror on it's own during the theatrical release was only 80 minutes. That running time was just the film itself and didn't include Machette (or the material surrounding it) and it didn't include the end credits (all of that which is included into the release).
What makes me laugh is one takes all of the material deleted out of these two movies, one would barely have a half an hour of additional material (and I would've actually loved Grindhouse even more than I do now if it was 220 minutes instead of 190).

The futureshop steelbook isn't on their website yet and it comes out in two weeks!
I really hope they get it, i can't have a Death Proof steelbook and a normal Planet Terror!
What about you Americans? can you pre-order your bestbuy steelbooks yet?

You'd think the guy said El Wray dies or something. Oh, oops...
