And the back cover has the closed caption logo, while the original issue of this dvd lacks captions. Can anyone verify that the new release is closed captioned or not? I'd like to pick it up,if that were the case.
And the person who claims the previous "Divimax" transfer is the 'correct transfer' must have their information mixed up. Since no one knows exactly how it looked in theaters today. Nor do many people a copy of the print and can attempt to find out. But since Cundey knows how the film is supposed to look. I'm sure his transfer is the correct transfer, and how it originally looked in theaters. At the very least,it probably resembled his transfer more closely than the 'divimax' transfer.
I doubt it had anything to do with 'revision' and 'trying to make the budget look bigger'. All it did was give the film the appearance of being fall. And the 'brownish leaves/grass' and 'dim daylight' seem more closer to how I remember the film over the years. Than the excessively bright green leaves and grass in the 'divimax' transfer which is all bright and sunny looking.

If you check out http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....s&nrp=15&iht=n they have two variations of this new release. The one released today looks to have that crappy metallic cover while there is another one that is being released next Tuesday which has the glow-in-the-dark eyes. At least that's what BestBuy is showing me...

I plan on picking up the Blu-ray on Oct. 2, and I swear this will be the *last* version of this movie I am ever going to purchase... This series is almost as bad as Evil Dead with its multiple releases.

The Best Buy cover was sweet.
I was there and didn't even know they were re-releasing. I loved the cover and decided to buy it when i saw it came with movie cash.
I got it for free basically.

So which transfer does this one have? The Divimax or the earlier one? I only have the Divimax and plan on seeing the movie anyway so it will be like getting a dvd I don't have free with the movie. But I won't hassle with it if it's the Divimax transfer.

For $9.99... I might just "take the pluge". I gotta go to BB anyway for the Psycho 3-pack.

Thanks for the heads up Shyguy.
I was hoping the Divimax 2-Disc would be part of that deal, since I wanted that extras disc.

And, darthmaher: Yes, while the old Goodtimes transfers are decent, the Universal version is a big improvement. For the cost of the double-feature, it's a no-brainer if you like the films.

I just picked up the Halloween II / Halloween III Double Feature DVD. I figured that the price was right for this bare-bones release.
