Ok, it seems all three discs are the exact ones that were released separately and are all anamorphic.

Does anyone know if The Alamo with John Wayne is Anamorphic? I seen it in the $5 dump bin and the back didn't state
Also is the copy of Copycat in the 4 Films Favorites Anamorphic? If not is the regular release? |
Just picked up Rocky II from the $5 bin at Wal-Mart. It is the 2006 release but doesn't say if its anamorphic or 16X9 or enhanced or anything. Also got a Wal-Mart exclusive Rocky III and IV double feature released in 2008, not sure if they're anamorphic either. They're both double sided discs if that helps.

... Sorry for lack of updates, I have some stuff to add. This week...I hope! ;) |
Thanks, BobSchlapowitz, I decided to open both of them and check them out and they are indeed all anamorphic.
Basaro, if you want the upcs anyway: Rocky II: 027616915146 Rocky III/IV: 883904100911 |
I just bought the Wesley Snipes Triple Featuere, which lists The Fan as anamorphic widescreen 2:35:1 on the packaging, but the DVD is the Pan and Scan version. I hate when the lie on the packaging!

Updated:
Pi 012236211013 Packaging is incorrect on "A Darren Aronofsky Collection" Just discovered this myself today, and then saw that someone mentioned this way back in the thread but I had missed it somehow. So anyway, it is finally updated. EDIT: Doh! , just realized I hadn't actually missed it, but I had it in the wrong list. Fixed. ^ and I have to go to Target soon anyway, so I'll check on the UPC for The Golden Child while I'm there. |
Is the single disc version of Clerks anamorphic?
|
^ Nope. There are no claims it is on the package either so that's why it's not in my lists. To get an anamorphic version, you'll have to get the 3-disc set.

Wild Things (first release) anamorphic?
To my shock, I put in "Wild Things" last night and was not anamorphic. On the back it clearly says it is anamorphic widescreen. I know the back cover is sometimes wrong, so I checked it out on dvdcompare.net, and it lists it as anamorphic. I haven't found dvdcompare.net to be wrong too often. I tried it on both my PS3 and HD DVD player to prove I wasn't crazy.
Can anyone confirm that this title is not anamorphic? This is the first release, not the "unrated" version. |

^I have the same version of Wild Things and it definitely IS anamorphic. Sure you're watching the film, and not the menu? ;)

Wow. How odd. The disc ring is labeled wrong! The full screen side is on the side labeled widescreen and vice-versa.
I didn't notice because I stopped the movie after the Columbia logo came up and since that logo was letterboxed on the full screen side, I assumed it wasn't anamorphic. I didn't even try the other side. Anyone else confirm the rings are labeled incorrectly? That's a first for me. Mystery solved. |
I just got True Lies for like 3.99. Now..the film is a great love letter to the Arnold and other action flicks of the 80s, but fucking hell! It isn't anamorphic...when will we get a special edition of this thing?!?!

Anamorphic not labeled:
Little Women (Classic DVD and Book Collection) 043396076983 The DVD case inside the box is labeled correctly. |
The Pink Panther box set with the first 5 films and a bonus dvd says that they're anamorphic. The single dvds of these movies says widescreen. Are both versions anamorphic?
|
^You mean the individual keepcase releases of those (in the newer black/pink packaging)?
They are all anamorphic, says 16x9 right on the package. |

Anamorphic:
Saved! 027616902832 There are different back covers for this release, the unlabeled one may be the new packaging (MGM stupidity) |
