So, I take it The Burning isn't coming out anymore, then?

Holy shit! I thought the line was dead. This is my favorite DVD line of all time! This is honestly the best DVD news I've heard this year.

Most likely. This is the way they were released in the past. I think the final wave was something like 10 double feature titles that came out all on the same day. And if I recall they were BB exclusives. I had to drive all over town to get them all.

If anyone wants a quick look at a nearly complete list of what's already available, take a look here: http://www.dvdspot.com/list.php?memb...lay=100&page=1

From Beyond is one of my favorite horror movies of all time - it's up there with Re-Animator (Lovecraft + same director), and is even a bit more out there, and has some of the best gore effects work ever. This is supposed to be the new, unrated director's cut, which promises more gore and such.

Same here, i can't wait. From Beyond is up there with the best of them. I've been waiting for this a very long time. Hope we do get the unrated cut for sure.

It looks like Scarecrows won't be a total barebones disc. According to Fangoria.com we can at least expect a commentary and storyboard comparisons. Hey, it's something! Nice to see some of these older titles get some lovin'.

FROM BEYOND is one of my favorites. Seems like it was ages ago Stuart Gordon dropped the info about how they found all the bits of missing footage and were cleaing it up.

They drag thier feet, but every now and then MGM gets a pretty good good cult/horror wave going.

Amazon has the DVD cover for From Beyond.

I've never seen it, but I'm looking forward to it since I love Re-animator so much.

I am not a big fan of that cover art, I prefer the original, but thats nostalgia for you. Hopefully The Burning will have some decent original art, but its a minor fault. As long as the DVD quality is top notch, that will more than do.

Well, then I can tell you in all good faith that you'll love it. Jeffery Combs character acting his ass off. Barbara Crampton being sexy as hell. Gratuitous, imaginative, slimy, gross out fx work. A few campy one-liners. Re-Animator and From Beyond go together like peanut butter and jelly.

The only reason From Beyond pales a little is because Re-Animator came first, but they are both pretty even in terms of great, exploitative, 80's horror goodness.

Amazon also has the Return of the Living Dead artwork up. It is terrible, as is From Beyond.

I'll still get From Beyond, waiting to see if the upgrade for Return of the Living Dead is necessary. Also I'm glad Scarecrows and The Burning are finally coming out.

That's good to hear. It will be also nice that my first experience with the movie will be uncut! Can't wait.

Both lame, especially RotLD, although it's not like they could have topped the current version. Great artwork and it glows in the dark.

That From Beyond cover is AWFUL!!!

Makes it look like some "Straight to DVD" sci-fi/horror crap.

Yeah... I was kinda reeling over that cover art for From Beyond... the original cover art for this one is very ingrained into my childhood brain parts from video snooping at the local grocery store.

but whatever... ill tape the vhs box to it? I have been dying for this DVD release!

... this also means I am a few steps closer to retiring that VCR. Much rejoicing!

As a plus it does appear to be the unrated cut! More slime! More grue!

The ROTLD art doesn't bug me too much. Double dip for sure... assuming there is some new content.... and if not well, maybe still...

And Food of the Gods!! You gotta be kidding me! This is fantastic, where's the Food love guys? Giant rats and chickens, man, giant rats and chickens!

Putting this all together with the release of Alligator I have pretty much reassembled the list of rentals I cycled through as a young kid!

Now where the heck is Killer Fish?????

Actually Legacy of Blood is already out. Its on one of the DVD's put out last fall featuring Elvira. It was a Shout Factory release I believe.

According to Movies Unlimited, the Roger Corman set (due 18th September) includes Premature Burial, The Man with X-Ray Eyes, The Young Racers, Te Trip, Gas-s-s-s-s, Bloody Mama, The Wild Angels, Bucket of Blood whilst the Vincent Price one includes Tales of Terror, Twice-Told Tales, The Abominable Dr Phibes, Dr Phibes Rises Again, Theatre of Blood, Madhouse, Witchfinder General

They are both flagged as Set #1 thus paving the way for future sets...

On Laserdisc in my closet with a full commentary from Richard Matheson.

Very well worth finding a cheap LD player and scoring the disc on Ebay.

I have that one, but the quality of the print used isn't that great. Plus, it's cut by 7 or 8 minutes compared a version MGM was running on cable a couple years ago (it's still on my Tivo). I was just hoping for a double feature of Blood and Lace/ Legacy of Blood. If not for the obvious similarity in titles, then for being two films with the most depraved familial relationships in 70's horror. There's always next year.
