Just bought the Hong Kong region 3 release today and I think it's a dud.
the DTS tracks (btw, did i mention there are 2 DTS tracks in this DVD?) sound great and packs quite a rumble. however, there's no commentary provided, the cantonese dub track seems like it has a PAL speed-up problem (the english tracks sound fine) and the worst offense yet, it is presented in the wrong aspect ratio. it's supposed to be 2:35.1 (or something like that). The Hong Kong release was close to 1:77.1.
in other words, avoid.
i must admit, the HK version has the better looking cover, though.

made some screenshot comparisons between the Hong Kong DVD and the US DVD. surprisingly enough to me, the Hong Kong DVD seems to be 3 minutes shorter than the US disc. I suspect that Panorama used a PAL master of the movie so there may be some kind of a PAL speed-up involved. Wished WB handled the Hong Kong disc. They usually do their own DVD's for Asia anyway. (my Hong Kong import DVD copy of "300" was exactly the same as the US disc aside from nixing out the French and Spanish dubs, and including a Thai dub instead)
(Top = Region 3 Hong Kong from Panorama, Bottom = Region 1 US release from WHV)
