DVD Profiler is back!!
Good news deserves it's own thread. DVD Profiler 3 is working again and the Invelos website and forums are accessible. Posted today by Ken Cole:
"We apologize for the site access issues that you may have experienced recently, affecting both our website and portions of DVD Profiler functionality.
The downtime was a result of a legal dispute between some members of InterVocative Software and Invelos Software. We're happy to report that the issue has been permanently resolved to the satisfaction of both companies. As of the closing of this agreement, InterVocative Software becomes a wholly owned subsidiary of Invelos Software, Inc.
We regret the negative impact to our customer base, and that we were unable to provide any notice or give information on why we were unavailable, due to the temporary court order in effect over the period. I'd like to thank everyone who posted around the net for your amazing support of us over the downtime.
On the bright side of this, we now have the opportunity to go forward with a single program, a single database, and a single user community. We'll be implementing the merges over the next few weeks."

Great news. I am glad for all involved, and it is good to see the best product live on. 3.0 is really great.
I am not sure if I am going back though. I got kind of addicted to movie collectorz while they were gone. I kind of like having my online database be just mine, any real way I want it to be. I didn't realize how much I disliked dvdprofiler contributions until they were gone. I guess I am a traitor. I will try to live with myself.

The good news is now Invelos owns IVS outright. The other 5 partners are now gone (bought out). So things should be much more stable now.
I used and loved 3.0, but never felt completely comfortable deleting 2.4. Until today. This news is even better than the initial release of 3.0 because the other 5 partners were still controlling IVS. Now that they're gone (quite happily from the reports I've received), I'm feeling very positive about the new company.

Ken Cole posted this a few minutes ago in response to a question on the Invelos message boards:

Yes, 2.4/2.5 will have a limited life span. I'll post more information after the data merge.

I'm confused.
Would I be able to download this new 3.0 version, and transfer my data from 2.4 to it?
Is 3.0 paid only? Guess I could just go and look for myself...
Right now I still can't get data or images for the Major League Wild Thing Edition, which is the newest released DVD I've bought since the blowup.

You should DEFINITELY buy 3.0...it's well worth the low price.
And yes, you would be able to do that.

Well shit. I just "updated," restored my backup file, and it's showing only 50 of my 199 DVDs!!!!
Why did I do this? Why, why, why???
... update... OK, I "restored" my database a second time, and now it's showing all 199 titles. What's the deal with this???
