I was thinking about purchasing a registration before 3.0 went down. Now that it's back, I guess it's time to go through with that.

Mr. Cinema 05-08-07 08:22 PM

Great news. I have a lot of titles to add now.

Scott_Lecter 05-08-07 08:31 PM

Wooooo Hooooo! It's about time. Welcome back, Ken Cole and DVDP!!

Drexl 05-08-07 11:35 PM

For those of us who have been entering the UPCs for the missing profiles anyway, to get the full profile for a disc: go to the title and select "Online" then "Refresh DVD from Invelos" from the top menu.

Big Worms 05-08-07 11:52 PM

Awesome news!

Pointyskull 05-09-07 07:08 AM

Glad to hear it! I had a fear it was going to be a long legal battle.

nateman 05-09-07 07:56 AM

Great News,
althrough I think I'm just going to stick with my 'Homemade' DVD datebase for now.

ytrez 05-09-07 08:32 AM

Sweet. I only had 3 dvd's come in during the time that it was down so no big impact.

mxv 05-09-07 10:26 AM

This just made my day! I sure did miss it while it was down.

Numanoid 05-09-07 10:58 AM

Great news! (Though I didn't even know it was gone)

MasterofDVD 05-09-07 11:09 AM

I've upgraded and updated. I'm thrilled it's back. It was annoying having to write down the DVDs I got along with all the info. I hope any other issues the company runs into can be resolved this fast.

Altimus Prime 05-09-07 11:53 AM

I'm not too thrilled. I don't like this severely crippled version. You can't do much of anything without paying for it (what, $30?). And then, after paying, based on what's happened, there's apparently no guarantee that it will continue to function. Sure, it looks better, but I'd rather have an ad-supported alternative.

Is there another program out there that I can use and not have to deal with this? If so I guess I'll have to re-enter my info title by title, but least I have only 199 and not thousands.

Well worth the $30. Really.

I agree, it is much better than 2.4/2.5. I still use DVDSpot as well, it's free and easy to use.

dkny75 05-09-07 12:31 PM

Great to see it back up and running. Now I'll have to enter all of the movies I picked up since it went down.

CaptStormy 05-09-07 01:17 PM

I rebought my license! Well worth the $30.

There's no guarantee that the ad supported one works either.

chase3001 05-09-07 01:28 PM

This is one of the very few programs which I bought a license for, and got my money's worth.

If you had purchased an earlier version, you should have been able to generate a 3.0 key at no charge...

True. But then, if it goes down/stops working/blows up, you're not out $30.

argh923 05-09-07 02:34 PM

Ken refunded anyone who requested it during the downtime.

The talk of not wanting to pay $30 for this great piece of software really comes off as cheap. I mean, it's the price of two DVDs.

Altimus Prime 05-09-07 03:25 PM

The way I shop, it's more like the price of three DVDs. Or a TV season set and a DVD.

All I can see is what's lost going from 2.4 to 3.0.

bigrederik 05-09-07 03:40 PM

I lost my entire collection on an old computer, which i didnt upload to the web (big mistake!). this news motivated me to input my collection again, and i am very happy with 3.0. It took me two days to input the 1000 titles, but it was worth it!

Did you actually have all the information, such as when you bought each title, where, and what you paid?

That's the info I like having available, and what I don't want to lose.

no, i dont really care about that info too much. i like being able to cross reference actors and directors, and sort different ways. DVD profiler also makes it easy to keep track of who borrows movies.
