I agree. Some friends get upset with how I spend my spare cash (I have put myself on a tighter budget though). It really none of their business unless I ask them to borrow money from them or I am on public assistance. I assume Xage is not on public assistance.

Xage and Giggles, I've been following this thread since I first came on here and joined, and I must say you guys are both crazy and awe inspiring to even be taking on such a daunting task of collecting every version of the Saw series or every R1 Release. I am a fan of the Saw movies, and I am a sucker for limited releases, but I can't bring myself to do what you guys are doing. Shoot, I feel guilty when I double/triple dip on a title if it comes out with a Director's Cut, Ultimate Edition, Steelbook, Extended, etc. I usually wind up giving away the older one to my brother (unless I like both the original and the newer double dipped version). My wife would think I've lost it if I tried to tackle on what you guys are doing. I don't care what others say, I think it's pretty cool that there are some folks out there collecting what they want. Xage, that collection of yours is just crazy and amazing to see together, and I'd like to know how far Giggles has gotten with the list. I may have missed it, but how many more do you need off the list? To those that don't understand or get it, let's just say there is a "bug" that some collector's get, and once you got it, there is no turning back. If you don't understand or get it, then you obviously have never been bitten by "the bug." I've seen it too many times in other things that people collect, so why should collecting dvd's be any different. Like the saying goes, To each his own.

Thanks mr. b_dvd
How far I proceeded regarding the list... You can see that on the first page of the thread where I mark DVDs I get with color. As of now I got 45 different releases. Pictures are coming soon I think

Very true. I've found that people that don't have that collector mentality just aren't able to understand the way collectors think. I've caught "the bug" for trying to get every Silent Hill and Grindhouse dvd. Though, right now, I'm most compelled to finally finish the Midnite Movies collection (about halfway there).

And I just have to say, I love this thread. It's always fun to see what Xage and Giggles come up with next. Happy hunting.

It has the same UPC as the transparent cover. Thanks for the info!

Mine is 807581507177.

If you think that’s impressive you should check out Giggles' Texas Chainsaw Massacre collection. More impressive (too me, at least) because its cult status and notoriety have caused so many variations and, even though I like Saw, it is a much better movie.

well, we are in a public forum, and if somebody insists on posting pic after pic of his latest grabs, then people do begin to form opinions. you're gonna have people that agree and disagree, and there's nothing wrong with that, as long as we're civil about it. just don't tell others that "we shouldn't judge somebody by his purchases", because ultimately these obsessive collectors purposely or unintentionally give us reason to.

I still haven't picked up the fourth movie. I can't make up my mind between the BD or the regular DVD. I bought Saw III on BD, and really wasn't all that impressed... I'll probably rent the BD for IV and then decide.

Awesome collection, Xage. Haven't seen you around lately.

I think this is pretty funny - one person starts a thread about one of the oddest things to collect and it surfaces another person with the same odd collection. What are the chances?

Have you guys been on cd-wow to get international releases? They have some stuff I haven't seen in your collections:

R3

Dutch Steelbook

Dutch

What about yesasia or easy-dvd for australian?

By now I've got 55 of both R1 and non-R1 editions. BTW, Trigger, the two last pictures you posted - those are not Dutch but German releases. Have all three.

I enjoy the Saw movies, but not enough to own them and watch them repeatedly. One day I might buy 'em all and just watch 'em on like Halloween or something.

That being said, I have tremendous respect for what you guys are doing here. This collection of DVDs is amazing. My hat is off to you both.

I totally understand the "bug" and my friends sometimes wonder why I make weekly trips to Best Buy and come back with stuff over and over again. Sometimes the search is half the fun. Finding stuff on sale or on eBay is a real rush sometimes; the rarer the better.

SAW Steelbook list

Hello Giggles,

If it is not too much trouble, could you PM or post a list of all the SAW Steelbooks released?
I ordered three Steelbooks from three different vendors and I would like to see which one I am missing.

You're missing SAW IV Steelbook from Sweden, from your list on page one.
TIA

Can you tell me where I can order the Swedish Saw 4 one? That looks great and if it's still relatively easy to get a t the moment I'd like to get one while I can. Sadly I think I've become a big stelbook collector myself in the last few months after trying not let it get a hold of me. lol

Try www.dvd.se They ship all over the world which is a rare thing for Swedish online stores. It costs 199 kr there - about $33. Don't know about the shipping though - I heard Swedish sites take a lot for delivery. As for me - a friend of mine in Sweden bought me one.

Thanks for posting pictures of the Steelbook covers, Giggles.

This will help me with the hunt. Three down, five more to go.

I think I found the SAW III Limited Edition with bloodpack / slipcase from a shop in the NL. I'm waiting for a confirmation from the store.
