I live in the USA and just purchased this from Best Buy. They had 20+ copies and almost all of them sounded like they had floaters inside. I chose one that didn't sound like it had a floater, but my disc 1 was loose when I opened the steelbook. Luckily, it doesn't look like there's any damage, but I just wanted to warn you guys to check for floaters before you buy. It rang up 17.99 instead of 19.99 at my BB too. I didn't think it was on sale, but I was pleasantly surprised.

Well i hope they do like the Superman tin set last year and offer us to replace the discs!
I just hope MGM at leasts acknowledges this problem soon. I know we don't count much in the grand DVD sales scheme but i think Canada buys alot of DVDs!

In Canada, both discs are Disc 1 with different artwork. Whoever screwed this up on the creation end need to be fired...
I'm so glad I rented this with one of my free rents from work instead of buying it!!

Great... I have this on order from CH. Guess I'll pray for no floaters...
Scott - Not that weird, it could be a bad packaging design... It's certainly happened before. The #'d Cannibal Holocaust release is a good example, it seems like almost everyone got a floater when that one came out. IIRC, the 3 disc King Kong that was on sale at BB a few weeks back had the same issue.

Funny, every time I hear that term "floater", I think of a gross little piece of fecal matter hanging out in your dvd case.
So, is everyone's Robocop ringing up $17.99 at Best Buy?

My Best Buy didn't have it. They had a $19.99 tag though advertising a movie that wasn't even on the shelf. Tisk, tisk.

Picked min up at the Hamilton Place Best Buy in Chattanooga, TN at the price of 19.99
That's got to be the worst price I've had the displeasure of paying. But considering I've made 100's from the Criterion release I am not to worried.
They had several copies left and it appeared that I was the first to ask for it as well as the first one to take one. And that was at 5:30PM. I tried FYE in the mall first but they did not get any copies in. I also called Circuit City and they were clueless like usual. I don't know why I even bother with them.

Top: R1 Trilogy
Bottom: R1 New Steelbook Anniversary

This tells us for sure that the new disc has been properly colour corrected and restored. The colour matches the approved transfer on the Criterion. PLUS: Look at that aweful contrast boosting and clipping on the Trilogy disc.
