I use Listal - works well for me, and it's simple to export data for backups.

I can understand the benefits of being able to modify your own db, but it seems like it would be alot of work. What do you use to import data?

For people comfortable using Access, it isn't that bad, but definitely an investment in time. I've been using Ant Movie Catalog but I'm now seriously considering going back to MS Works Database or AppleWorks Database. They offer the flexibility similar to that of using Access without the overhead.

As for importing data it depends upon what you want to keep track of and how large your collection is and how often it changes.
