These apply to me:

1. Have no problem double or triple dipping on that dvd that you have no intention of watching just like the other times you bought it.

6. Would rather be punched in the face then watch a full screen presentation of your favorite (edit: ANY) dvd movie (that is available in widescreen).

I do that sometimes. When I was a kid, I used to organize the boxes of old comics at my local bookshop.

You buy both the High Def, and Standard version of a movie.

when you see the words "Limited Edition" on a box of chocolate covered Sugarbabies and buy them even though you don't really like Sugarbabies.

When you go to get new releases every tuesday, then when the very rare time you don't go your week is ruined.

When your friends look at your collection and only dream of having that many DVD's.

When people say i just rent DVD's & you have a temper tantrup.

When DVD's is more important than your family.

I often have temper tantrums when people tell me they rent DVDs just because my OCD kicks in and I have to buy them brand new and open the wrapping! I even do this with videogames for some reason although DVDs have begun to take over my videogame habit

When you run your monthly expense report and DVD spending is second only to Rent.

When you compare any expense to the cost of DVDs ("You mean that TV is $50 dollars more than that one? That's 4 DVDs!")

I wont even mention having over 2000 DVDs with nothing to watch. LOL

You consider buying only 8 or 9 DVDs a month "cutting back".

When light coming in through your windown makes a bright patch on your floor you think of it as contrast boosting.

You wonder what aspect ratio your eye sight is.

  • When you will pay more just to get an exclusive cardboard slipcover even when the DVD is otherwise the same everywhere.
  • You've ever actually paid money just for a stupid cardboard slipcover.
  • You save the plastic stickers from the top of the DVD case in perfect condition because "they're part of the packaging."
  • You won't allow anyone else to watch one of your movies unless you are going to watch also or have already seen it.
  • You spend more time cataloging and organizing your movies than you do watching them.
  • You double/triple dip but keep the old versions so that you will have EVERY edition.
  • You have an anxiety attack at the thought of leaving the DVD store empty-handed -- even when they don't have anything you're interested in.
  • You've ever taken a sick day/vacation day from work specifically so you be the first in line when the store opens on release day.
  • You buy empty DVD cases by the gross just so you can transfer your DVDs to the new cases at the slightest hint of wear or age.
  • You refuse to buy a DVD unless the cellophane wrapper is in perfect condition.
  • You automatically replace any DVD that has a scratch or smudge even if it plays perfectly.

... you get depressed and begin hanging your head around all week due to the fact that latest limited edition import (or any batch of DVDs for that matter) have taken over two weeks to arrive and still hasn't!!!!

I'm currently experiencing this

But really, it is funny that a lot of these responses do ring true ....

You don't let anyone borrow or touch your dvds because you are worried they will scratch the disc!

Applies to me:

1. When you know you will never sell your Collector's Limited edition of /insert title/ released in 1000 pieces, even for $500.

2. When you consider a possibility to buy a pair of surgical gloves, because greasy finger prints are all over those matt black slip-covers, and they are so visible!

3. When you start referring to films as 'DVDs' although it's actually MOVIES you're collecting.

Time to organize some DVDholics Anonymous :-))

You look at the weekly ads, or digitalbits new cover scans as if they were porn.
