Take into consideration the film, audio/video quality, and special features - NOT only the film!

It may not be on the same level as Michael Powell's later composed films, but it is certainly more than a propaganda film. The extras are excellent. I really enjoyed Powell's autobiography and it is great to have excerpts of the dictations on this dvd.
Honorable Mentions:
The Prestige
I cannot remember the last time I watched a dvd three times in one month.
The Departed
The film was not as effective as Infernal Affairs and most of Monahan's additions were unnecessary, but Scorsese on Scorsese is, without a doubt, one of the best extras of the year.
