"The 40-Year-Old Virgin" 2-disc coming 5/22
The Digital Bits and DVDActive are reporting a 2-disc set of The 40-Year-Old Virgin coming on May 22. Information suggests it will feature the unrated cut only. No details on extras at this time.
Love the film, but never picked it up, so as long as the existing content is preserved along with whatever new bonuses are planned, I think I'll finally buy.

I prefer the regular, R-rated version. While some of the extra material in the unrated edition is funny, I feel it bogs down what was already a pretty long movie (at least for a comedy). So if this one doesn't have the theatrical version too, I'll probably skip it.

I'll stick with my unrated version.

It does look good but this kind of movie has been done to death, I do have much faith in Apathow though

I'm with the others who're sticking with my original unrated edition. This is a double dip I can resist. If I'd waited I'd jump on it especially if it has moviecash but I didn't.

They could include the original theatrical version in widescreen for starters. Sure, it's already available (though I've yet to see it in stores), but it'd be nice to see it in the same set.

Yeah, including both cuts is the only obvious addition that could be made.
You can always add more features but the existing disc is already pretty packed.
I never found the widescreen theatrical disc in person but I believe I read that it had stuff on it that wasn't present on the unrated version like a trailer and I personally wouldn't be the least bit surprised if this new edition is just those two discs packaged together or something similar.

This is Universal we're dealing with. If this is anything like the Brokeback and Eternal Sunshine 2-discs they put out, it'll just be basically the original first disc then a second disc with like 20 minutes of special features. Eh, and maybe a few postcards. I'll still get it to support Apatow and Carell, as I am a huge fan of their work in general.
