Since Fox want to do a sequel but with Cohen's character so recognisable now, I wonder if the plan is to turn the deleted scenes into the bulk of Borat 2. Just shoot some loosely connected narrative scenes and bingo, box office gold!

I'm getting the Wal-Mart version and I have no problem buying it again if they do a special edition down the road.

"Bruno" will essentially be "Borat 2," though.

Try to stick with me on this - when Ashton Kutcher wanted to do another season of "Punk'd", he had MTV announce that it had been cancelled so celebs would be expecting to get punked by him. It worked. My guess is that if another shot is going to be made at Borat, it has to be done 100% on the downlow, i.e., no public announcements until the filming has wrapped.
Make sense?

They're just going to have to go around and see what they can get. There will be more people who know who he is this time, but there should be enough who don't to get a feature out. They still could use the extra footage from the first film if needed.

I noticed today that Myer here in Australia is giving away a "man-kini" as well with a preorder of the Borat DVD. The collector in me would like to get it but I'd hate having to try and explain it to everybody that comes over!

With Borat, anyone who knows who he is and gets put on camera with him is going to know he's doing a bit, regardless of whether there's any news about a new movie or not.

I'm sure there are vast areas of the country (you know, the part between NY & LA) where he could still film in complete anonimity.

I work at a video store and we got ours in today, the cardboard sleeve is glossy and has everything in english, the dvd however, as a joke, is the same cover but very, very poor quality. It looks like it was printed using a crappy home printer and the entire thing is in kazahkastan!! Down to the widescreen label on the top, to the reviews on the cover and back. The disc art looks like a blank dvd with the word borat hand written on it. Very funny, but very very cheap looking.

Any early reviews for the dvd itself?

Curious...the rental copy has the cover (and back cover) in all English...I suppose that's not to confuse the Joe Six Pack crowd that picks this up on impulse because it's just new?
I am really hoping for a 2 disc version of this...complete with all the deleted scenes from this release put back in the movie (which are ALL hilarious...I can't understand why any of them were left out...as if 84 minutes was too long to begin with. Making the movie a hundred minutes or so would have been quite fine) and more of his TV appearances, with the full clips and not just snippets of him on TV. Only NBC cleared footage for the DVD, apparently, but missing his is Today show appearance and I really wanted his Daily Show appearance on the DVD as well.

Picked up the Canadian R1 version (early import copy in the UK).
The DVD cover is indeed all in Khazakstani, but the cardboard slipcover is in English and French. Languages are English, Spanish, French and Russian(?), and subtitles in English and Spanish. Extra's are deleted scenes (very funny, as good as anything in the movie), a Global PR tour feature, also very entertaining and includes the Cannes episode with the 'film breakdown'. There is also a music infomercial which I have not watched yet.
Some may have wanted more, but I guess at this point a making of would be somewhat pointless, as showing how some of the setups were done and indeed showing Cohen out of character would probably destroy the illusion somewhat - but perhaps in a future SE it would be good to see that stuff.
And I also echo the sentiments re the naked wrestling scene, man I found that hard to watch...and personally I would not want to see any more graphic male nakedness, so they can leave the black blur where it is, thank you very much.
