Re: Criterion The Third Man OOP???
Criterion have confirmed tonight on their Facebook page that both the SD and BD versions of The Third Man have gone OOP; looks like they've lost the rights.

Ooh, thanks for the heads up. I've got the standard edition of the 2-Disc, but I was planning on upgrading the Blu-Ray. I'll order it right away...

Was on the fence, since I have the original Criterion and haven't watched it in a while, but it is a great film so I bit the bullet. Just wished I'd taken advantage of the sale when this was $15.99 at Amazon.

Thanks for the heads up on this one. Grabbed my copy via Amazon about 10 mins ago.
Might have to start jumping on the other Criterions so I don't miss out.

Any chance another studio will re-release this to DVD, similar to how "Rebecca", "Notorious" and "Spellbound" became part of MGM's Premier Collection last Fall?

Re: Criterion The Third Man OOP???
There are still plenty of copies to be found online at the moment, I just ordered the Blu-ray from Barnes and Noble Online. I'd been holding out for the plastic case replacement program to be resolved but it appears that will not be the case. It is going out of print due to licensing, not because of the the Blu-ray package change to the hardcase that was in the works as some have speculated...which wouldn't account for the DVD going out of print regardless.
Buy it now before it's only available second hand for exorbitant prices.

Clear Keepcase. Again..it's a damn fine package. What was all the talk about the cardboard..someone brought it up that CC was doing a replacement for the case or something...
