Universal Cinema Classics Wave 1 in February
Universal Studios Home Video have announced four titles as Wave 1 of a new Universal Cinema Classics line. Due on 6th February 2006 priced at $14.98 SRP each are: All Quiet on the Western Front (1930), Arabian Nights (1942), Going My Way (1944) and The Heiress (1949).
All titles are presented in 1.33:1 Full Frame with English DD2.0 Mono audio and optional English SDH and French subtitles. Extras include introductions and original trailers.

I don't know, Universal has been really good about upgrading films for re-issues. All Quiet is a pretty bad transfer, especially compared to the R2 disc judging from the screencaps I've seen. The current DVD only has production notes and a trailer. It's a pity it's not getting a full special edition since it's one of the finest war films, not to mention outstanding for an early sound film. However, I'll be fine with just a new transfer.
