Why not use this thread to make possible trades since it is already started. Several people have already posted what was duplicated and missing from their sets. Seems like that would be easier than starting another one.
I just pre-ordered volume 3 and 4 yesterday and may need to do another swap in the future. Keeping my fingers crossed I won't have any problems next time. |
i didn't mean another forum or thread..i meant continue on this..you will see, someone is gonna benefit

I have Japanese characters on my movie disc (all of the movies so far) that appears after the FBI amd Copyright notices and before the opening of the movie. Strange, but I have noticed no other problems so far and have thoroughly enjoyed the discs and movies.

I got two "The Man With the Golden Gun" inserts, and am missing "Diamonds are Forever" from Ultimate Edition Volume 1. If anyone wants to trade, or if someone had found a resolution to the problem...please post.

This is not a problem at all

If you have seen UK DVDs, they have probably 10 different warning pictures. |
I win over all of you: I got two copies of "The World Is Not Enough," and no "Goldfinger."
Fortunately, I purchased my set at a nearby store, and was able to exchange it. No Pussy Galore, no sale. |
I also have two for "The Man With the Golden Gun" and I am missing "Diamonds Are Forever".
PM me or you can IM me, Im endcontra on all of em. |
I have a problem ... when I watch 'A View To A Kill', it seems that Roger Moore looks 60 years old and cant even bend down ..
Oops ... my bad ... he is 60. :) |
Haha.
I bought both Volumes 1 and 2 today, but I'm only able to open Volume 2. I have a minor problem with it and it's bugging me because I'm anal and I have OCD. The bottom has a bit of a rip, so it snags when I try to pull the DVD holder out. I'm wary of pulling it out/putting it back in a lot, because I'm afraid that it'll rip more. |
Put some tape over the rip to keep it from snagging.
Done and done! |
I just took it back. I'm too anal about my DVDs (damned OCD) to put tape over it.
Question - is the Die Another Day set the same two discs from the original release? |

Ah, so I guess I should hold onto my old SE?

Received volumes 3 and 4 from Barnes and Noble and found several problems with volume 3. First I found there was no booklet for From Russia With Love. Second found both of the DVDs were loose inside the Goldeneye case but the discs appear fine. However it appears the case is broken, and it is also a different design compared to the other cases for some reason. Looks like I will have to exchange the set for another one. Hopefully I can do it at my local B&N store instead of mailing it back for another copy.

There was a different design for my Goldeneye and OHMSS cases, too. I wonder how hard it is to match them all up at the factory?
Oh, well. Everything else in volumes 3 & 4 turned out okay for me (I was holding my breath while opening them). |
My GoldenEye had the different, crappy case, and had lovely scratches and a few fingerprints on the discs, too. OHMSS was same case as all the others. My Live and Let Die disc 1 was cracked/chipped, missing two slivers from the clear plastic ares around the hub. Can not safely be played. Taking back to B&N store at closest mall to exchange tomorrow...
|
Oops...I posted to the wrong Bond thread.....But my Vol. 4 had a big issue. Tomorrow Never Dies had to discs of the Special Features, no movie. I didn't have any issue with the booklets on all 4 volumes though. But the Vol. 4 exchange was easy at Circuit City.

I posted on another thread about my Vol. 3 shenanigans. Here's what happened and what I did...
-OHMSS & Goldeneye came in different cases than the others. -OHMSS contained 9 different scratches on the disc. -Goldeneye had a few marks on it, but not near as bad as OHMSS. - I returned the set for another and opened it up in store to check booklets/discs/cases. -All the cases were like they should have been and all movies were pristine. I can't get over all the trouble these sets seem to be causing amongst the "crappy" cases, duplicate booklets and missing discs. |
Overall I don't have a problem with the sets. Yes one of the movies, "Moonraker" had a number of stratches on it but it was securely set in the case. So I take it was just a bad disc. I didn't have the problem of missing booklets, duplicate booklets or mismatched cases.
Bottom line are these releases were not perfect in terms of packaging but I like the slim cases where I can save alot more space than the previous sets. The order of the movies in the way they were released is the same as has been done before (mixing the movies) when selling the Bonds as sets. Maybe these will never be released as single movies but for the price paid how can you complain. For each set I paid less than $50. Under 10 buck a movie. When the Special Editions came out as single movies 6-7 years ago, they were over $20 on sale. Before these sets came out I was able to sell 18 of the 20 SE's (didn't bother with DAD - used price was .99 and Goldeneye - better transfer per Region 4 review) for $280. I had the money for these sets even before release and I still came out ahead. Until the HD versions come out I'll be a happy camper will great new transfers. Now I only have to get back to Best Buy to exchange Volume 4. I won't leave the parking lot until I've checked each movie. It's a pain but what are your going to do. |
I just received volumes 3 & 4, and have a couple of problems so far. First, GoldenEye was in the strange, alternate case that others have experienced. It was scratched to hell, too, so Amazon is sending me a replacement.
More importantly, my Moonraker disc has something rather funky going on...it appears to have two layer changes! My DVD player always stalls for a second or two with layer changes, but this is the first time I've seen two such pauses on a disc (without scratches or debris on the disc, or being a shitty Universal DVD-18). The first time happens in chapter 15, at the 56:58 mark. The second time is right when the disc switches over to chapter 16, at 59:25. Both times, the disc stalls as if in a layer change. Clearly, the changeover to chapter 16 is the likely change, but what's the deal with the first pause? Has this happened to anybody else's disc? |
^^ that's awfully strange
my set (physically) is good. only weird thing is: V3 - 2/5 movies V4 - 3/5 movies had special features on the left, movie right in the cases. also, ohmss has a different audio set up: it follows -- ENG DD 5.1, ENG DD 2.0, ENG DTS 5.1. All my others go from 5.1 DD - DTS - 2.0 how weird!!! |
Has anyone called or e-mailed MGM to ask why 1/3 of the bonuses from Die Another Day are missing when they were advertised on the box?
Better yet, why does the UE DVD suck? The only great thing about it is the sharper transfer. No DTS-ES, no trailers, no featurettes, no trailers, no Madonna! (the last thing isn't a joke. I liked Die Another Day) |
