This deserves its own thread. This is GREAT news, I'd just about given up hope. Now I just hope we get seasons 10 and 11 too!

Awesome news, but another thread? Really?
Cheers: Season 9...when?
Cheers: Season 9, 10, 11?
I will use this as an excuse to pimp my custom set. I'll put up season 9 as soon as I get specs.

So glad that season 9 is finally getting released, and Becker: 1st Season DVD release news on the same day, is icing on the cake.
Matlock -the 1st Season has also been announced, could this be the best day for TV on DVD announcements, ever?!

BTW, I've said this before, but that custom set looks amazing.

I think the studios should really push TV on DVD to the customer, while the strike is on. Sure, a few shows have a few episodes that'll be burned off this month, but then it's back to repeats and horrible reality shows. I still don't think that TV on DVD is as popular as it should be. I think if they start showing ads during the final new episodes of curtain TV shows, they'll get more people interested. Let's hope that this strike benefits the TV on DVD collectors, like me.
I'm still surprised that more people aren't collecting their favourite shows from their childhood, however.

Maybe because tastes have changed? My favorite show as a kid was Lost in Space, but when I bought a set and tried to watch it all these 30 years later ...shudder....terrible show.

I hope you're right, though I wish they'd gone with those slim cases from the beginning. My Cheers and Frasier sets take up waaaay too much room.

I ordered it from DVDEmpire; it's $30.09, but I used coupon code 1402275 ($5 off a $30 purchase, expires tomorrow) to bring the cost down to $25.09... I also ordered a couple of their used DVDs, to get free shipping.
