And Performance is being released here in the U.S. in February. So I hope this person was correct with The Devils coming out in 2007. It better anyway or I will be extremely upset with Warner. And if they do release it in the cut R version only,I will be even more upset with them!
Performance was rerated R recently, and it may be the uncut originally X rated version from what I'm told(which is what was recently resubmitted in the U.K. for release).
I don't see the uncut version of The Devil's passing with an R rating though. Well if they do use the British print of the film. I can see it getting an R today. But if the 'rape of christ' sequence were restored. I can see it easily earning an NC-17 in that case.
Though it would be a great surprise if that sequence did pass with an R rating today. I can dream, can't I

And I don't think a Ken Russell set is in the offing. Though we may get a series of releases like Warners did with a few Visconti titles a few years back.

I want Bogart movies like Black Legion, Conflict, King of the Underworld, Invisible Stripes, Chain Lightning, etc.
Maybe they could do some of those movies as "Double Features," like the Val Lewton set.

wow! thanks I never knew that, I bet some lawyers from warner got fired over that. here you are warner(owner of dc comics) and you can`t release one of america`s icon heroes classic show and after doing some googling from the looks of it are being held hostage by fox.
Warner Home Video has no stake in the dispute because the series was made long before Time-Warner bought DC.
