Volume One is going back to print, according to www.mst3kinfo.com . They renegotiated the rights, and all is well.
Has anyone heard any additional news in regards to Volume 1 getting re-released?

Rhino has Volume 1 listed on their site again, available to order.

Rhino is re-releasing vol. 10 with The Giant Gila Monster in place of Godzilla vs. Megalon, and it's also going to include a couple of new extras, among 'em a sketch with Joel, Trace, and J. Elvis Weinstein about the recall/re-release.

Hey, it's great news that the set is being reissued, and it sounds like Rhino is more than making it up to the folks who missed out the first time around. On the other hand, if you shelled out $40-$60 or whatever to get the original boxed set, you'll have to do it again to get The Giant Gila Monster! Rhino has said repeatedly that there are no plans to release the disc separately, not even through mail order or their website. Way to accomodate your fans, Rhino.

Lot of discussion going on at the Satellite News

Someone posted an email addy to voice your complaints. Remember, politeness counts, and for pete's sake, use spellcheck.

This is a pretty crappy thing for them to do, esp for something with such a dedicated fanbase as MST3K has.

It does suck for the people who had already purchased Vol. 10... but considering I never managed to get that first version, I'm glad to see it get re-released. I guess I can live without Godzilla vs. Megalon.

Does anybody know if the Godzilla vs Megallon feature is going to be released by any other company?

Godzilla vs. Megalon and other episodes not commercially released are available through the Digital Archive Project.

I'm guessing dx23 is asking is just the movie will be released by another company. Probably. Eventually.

I love MST3K and buy everything I can, but I refuse to pay $35 for a 4 disc set just to get the one disc I missed. I will stick with my DAP version of this one.

Same here. If they release an individual DVD of Giant Gila Monster (or make it available to previous buyers of Vol. 10 somehow) I'll buy it, but otherwise, I'll stick with my DAP copies of both Giant Gila Monster, and future Rhino MST3K releases.

This does suck. Thanks, Rhino, from a fan who couldn't wait to get the original release of volume 10. If there was a legal issue with the first release, it was Rhino's fault, not the fans, so why punish us for their mistake? I guess the new message they're sending here is to NOT rush out and buy the latest MST3 release. I'd just assume to let them sit on a shelf and collect dust and not make any money for Rhino if they think it's OK to turn around and burn the fans for quickly buying their products. I'm definitely not double dipping on this box set and I may not bother to get anymore MST3 sets since my collection will be incomplete.

I just thought of something else: Will there be a bunch of folks who will scarf up the second release of V10 when they see it on a store shelf thinking they scored the original release?

But the fans who bought early got a rare film that will likely never see a MST3K release again. Fans could be pissed off either way. "I bought too early, so I don't get Giant Gila Monster." "I bought too late, so I don't get Godzilla"

I bought early and am not in the least pissed off. I figure it's better to have bought the set rather than take the chance that it would not every be re-released.

This isn't some "damned if you do, damned if you don't" situation. The fans who didn't buy in time weren't going to get Godzilla no matter what. How Rhino is choosing to handle Giant Gila Monster has no bearing on that, but it is preventing the early buyers from getting Giant Gila Monster without shelling out for an entire set that they own 3/4s of.

If you didn't see it earlier, please note this is the email to send your complaints to. Please be sure to remain polite, I think Rhino has been fairly fan friendly with MST3K, so let's stay civil.

I think I found the OOP version of Volume 10. Found a website that claimed they had it in stock and all the info seemed to match. Placed an order and I will see what happens.

Well it's been over a month now-- any news as to when the single disc of Giant Gila Monster (for those of us who found & bought Volume 10) will be available for ordering?
