Idiocracy on dvd December 19...
Since this was given the utmost disrespect with its limited theatrical run...who besides me will be blind-buying this and support the genius that is Mike Judge?

Definite DVD pickup. Are you sure about release date?

I wanted to see this in theatres and actually had the oppurtunity to do so. I just couldn't find anyone to come see it with me. Apparently getting someone to see a movie they've never heard of is more difficult than converting them to a new religion.
Anyways I'll be blind-buying the DVD for sure.

Definite buy
This is one of the best movies I've seen this year. It's sad that big corporations cannot handle satire.
I'm hoping that we get more footage. You know that a lot had to be trimmed just for the theatrical release.
I URGE anyone who likes Judge's humor to get this.

Anyway, I missed Idiocracy here... I can't even tell you if it ever played in Miami. But I will aim to rent it.

I was upset at the treatment this movie got until I saw it at the theaters and pretty much hated it. Maybe my expectations were to high but I just didnt enjoy this movie at all. I will avoid this on DVD.
I got my roomate to go with me to see it and he hated it as well, I can see allot of people loved this but I didnt.

IMO a lot of the latest eps have been really funny.
For example I just watched 'The Year of Washing Dangerously' last night
and it had me cracking up!
And with such strong characters and premise it seems like it could go forever as long as they stay true to what it is.

I just got this today (haven't watched it yet) but I noticed an error on the details area of the back cover. It reads: "Double Sided Single Layered", yet the disc is actually single sided.
Not an issue, just thought it was mildly amusing.

Some of the visuals in this movie were far funnier than most of the dialog. If it had any decent features I probably would of bought it rather than renting it.

I certainly hope this will be revisited in the future for a special edition
(and also Office Space for a REAL special edition too)
and to get all the stuff about the lack of release talked about.
I imagine the full 90 minute cut of "Ass" would be a special feature.......

Something to mention -- Paramount recently released The Animation Show Vol. 1 & 2, and Mike Judge's contribution to the program in Vol. 1 contains "Office Space", the short. Perhaps it is because Paramount owns this bit of animation that it was not included on the Office Space DVD. It still would have been nice to have gotten a commentary, from Judge, the cast, or a track with both. Same goes for this.
I haven't seen it yet, but I'm not paying $20 for something that Fox screwed over, because in the eyes of the corporation, that probably just makes them think they were right to screw it. I'll buy it through Blockbuster or Hollywood.

Finally watched this yesterday, thought it was hilarious. I had to pause the movie a couple times so I didn't miss anything from laughing so hard. The only downside was that I thought Maya Rudolph was out of place, she stunk it up in this one, but she wasn't in it that much.
