Is Lawnmower Man DC available anywhere?

While not really impressed by the original movie I saw the DC on lazerdisc a long time ago and actually enjoyed it quite a bit. I was just wondering if anyone knows if it's available on DVD anywhere.

Rewind just lists it as the normal version but I've read in other articles that there is a R2 disc available which is the DC. Anybody have any ideas where I might be able to pick it up?

Cheers!

I'm not sure unfortunately(check ebay). I think there may be a R2 D.C. release,but I'm not 100% certain.

I'd love for New Line to release that version here in the U.S.,since I feel it's a superior version of the film.

I've checked eBay UK and unfortunately I've only found the original cut. I thought I was in luck when I found the 10th Anniversery edition but it turns out it's the original version with a different cover! I checked on eBay USA and found a couple of copies, with copies being the magic word!

The problem is that I'm not absolutely certain that it's been released on DVD. I've read on several sites that there is a european DVD release of the DC but lots of other sites also say that there's never been a DVD release anywhere in the world. It looks like one of those cases where I have to just keep looking and hope I come across one somewhere.

From: Right now, my location is DVDTalk, but then again, you should already know that, shouldn't you?
It's never been released as an R1 release, which sucks and sucks again.

AFAIK, all the bits cut out of the DC are on the R1 DVD, but of course just as bonus material and not as part of the film. I do have the DC on LD, though.

it's available on VHS!!! yup... VHS version is better than the DVD - no, not the PQ.. but the extended version is much much better in my opinion. why in the world they can do this on Tape and not disc is beyond me.

Umm, did you miss my post? It was released on Laserdisc. Not DVD of course, but if you want good "PQ" and all the scenes where they should be, then Laserdisc might be your only option.

Yeah, a mate of mine has the old Laserdisc version but unfortunately I've not got a player. It looks like I might just have to buy a VHS version. As long as it's widescreen I'm not really that fussed, I actually kind of preferred the look of some of the older movies when they were on tape but would most definitely prefer this one on a DVD!
