Sucks that the manga isn't the whole story.

And yeah, the person who designed this tin MUST have been the same person who did the Band of Brothers tin.

sunovabich....got my tin last night. not happy at all about their choice of packaging. all the contents (which are cardboard in nature) got serious dents on all the corners due to the rounded corners of the tin. this includes the manga, the film cell sheet and the three digipaks. why couldn't they use something more sturdy inside, like those thinpaks instead of the cardboard crap?

So what film strips did you guys get?

Mine is a shot of Oh Dae-Su with side profile of Mi-do in the foreground.
It's a cool little moody shot, but I would've prefered a shot of the hallway fight.

I got two film cels. One was Mido and Dae Su in the car with Mido singing, and I forget the other.

Mine sounds similar to yours. I was hoping for one of the more action-oriented scenes too. I still think it's an excellent set, though and I'm very happy to own it.

I received an e-mail from Amazon.ca that my order has shipped today. Hopefully my tin won't be dented.

I hope they get more in soon. I'm thinking with a fresh batch, there's less chance of getting one with a dent.

edit: Just looked on their site and instead of saying "backorder" it says "preorder". There's also a new charge on my cc for $20.82... so maybe this is a good sign they got more in.

Bought mine at best buy the other day and I'm glad to say that all contents are in great shape! After reading this thread I've made sure to remove it from the tin to prevent future damage. Unfortunately the tin itself didnt do too good; it already has a few dents on it.

This is my 4th copy of the movie (original R3 2-disc set.. R3 4-disc tin.. UMD Movie and now the 3 disc R1 tin (I was tempted to get the R2 HD DVD but at $50 and no subtitles, I couldnt do it).

The R1 contents are great, and very close to a translated version of the R3 tin (with some features missing). Quality definitely isn't up to par, but for 1/4th the price, I cant complain.

I like that they went with the cardboard cases like those present in both R3 sets.. again though, they're not up to the same quality as the R3's.

I got my tin and I think that it will be voted one of the best dvd's of the year. This set blows away my expectations.

Okay, is this really a "limited edition"? Does anyone know what the print run was for it?

Nice, that was pretty quick LorenzoL. I'm still waiting on mine from DDD to ship to Winnipeg! It said it shipped on the 20th.

Hope you get it soon. I have never ordered anything from DDD so I don't know if they usually take long to ship items but Amazon.ca has been reliable in all of my shopping experiences.

Finally bought this set last week; not impressed with the packaging: dented tin; damaged thinpaks. But for $30 I can't complain considering the wealth of content.

I'll definitely be making a custom case for this set though: plastic cases and custom sleeve.

arghhh!!! god i hate it when so many things go OOP at the same time.according to many online retailers, this is going OOP but amazon.com has a special price on it...i wonder if i should jump on it or wait as maybe it's just a temporary thing and it will come back in stock soon?

On amazon it says "Usually ships within 1 to 3 weeks" so I dunno if they will actually be getting more in. I'm considering getting it from amazon too. I already have the original release, but I love this movie so much. Is it worth it to double dip for $23.47??

Yes, it has esentially all the extras from the OOP and very spendy ($200+) Korean Ultimate Edition, save for a copy of the soundtrack.

My filmstrip is right either right after or right before Mr. Park says "This time, don't imagine anything."

If you really want it, I'd find a way to get it. You can try the Amazon route. You can also try other avenues. If one of those comes through, you can always cancel the Amazon order.
