I know this doesn't belong here, but you know what I'd like more dvds to have: MST style commentaries like the one in the original Ghostbusters relase. Think HD or BR will have this style of commentaries?

Well, it would be pretty simple to do a commentary in that style, if they just used the silhouettes. What would be cooler is if you could see the actual people instead of just black outlines.

Glad they got a three hour documentary, otherwise I would fear it would be like the V For Vendetta two disc with one disc worth of material spread over two.

This title should also have numerous exclusives. I just hope some of them are worth getting. The new trend seems to be dvd retailer exclusives.

UGH!! UGH!!!...Those covers suck balls. Don't like 50 people have to approve that stuff before they become legit? How is that possible, when everyone here is saying that they're awful? Just a epidemic of bad taste at the warner bros laboratories??

Oy! Although the Supergirl cover is far worse, the Superman Returns covers look like they wouldn't even be approved by someone who's legally blind.

I saw in the link that it is available to purchase in a tin at Ezydvd.com, but it's listed as non-orderable. What does that mean? Is it already sold out, or will it be available for pre-order soon?

Oh man, why do they get such brilliant artwork and packaging and we don't. Warner in the US can easily use that artwork for the 2-disc release. That is awesome packaging!

Hopefully those two eyesores are far from final and we will get that artwork (sans tin) as the 2-disc cover?

Two eyesores? They belong in a museum compared to the Christopher Reeve remastered DVD covers. First, I like the two covers for "SR". A lot! Second, the one for the 2-disc edition is actually one of the many posters for the movie. So it's not like they just threw something together. The cover and poster of Superman hovering over earth is indeed very nice. If you love it so much, buy the poster, frame it, and put it up on your wall. I did

Not the Photoshop, masturbatorial exercises linked above.

I love that poster art so much, I almost like it more than the movie.

DAMN YOU, WB!
I was in the marketing survey group that got to give feedback on various covers they were pitching for this DVD. This was the one I picked ! WOOHOO ! The others they had weren't very good, to be honest. I'm really glad to see they went with this one.

ETA : Wait, maybe I'm lost. Is this NOT the cover they're going with ? Oh man, if they go with those other covers we reviewed I am not gonna be happy.

You should've told them to check out the feedback on DVDTalk to know the right thing to do

Probably comes out to about 125-135 shipped. This might be the route I take if R1 doesn't get something similar.

They're using art there that is obviously out of date (shows 14 discs) so I wouldn't be surprised if they just made up the price and release date based on what they've heard. I still assume the R1 anouncement will come soon after the Superman Returns disc is anounced officially.

I still have not seen these covers, and I am very curious as to why they are so bad.

Wouldn't be the first time that this company has done that. I can remember ordering an 'exclusive' Battlestar Galactica set from them a couple of years ago that never came to fruition and was apparently based on nothing more than internet rumor.

Apparently it has become absolutely impossible to design a decent Superman cover ... period.
