Street Date Break Alert - Star Wars OT DVDs

Just went to Best Buy here in Texas. They had a ton of the new Star Wars DVDs on the rack including the Star Wars Tin. They also had a display up with the DVDs on that as well.

Just letting you know, just in case you can't wait to get that non-anamorphic goodness!

Rest assured they will be pulled from the shelf shortly. That is a big no no, especially for big releases like Star Wars. You should have bought it fast!

Interesting. I was wondering whether or not to preorder due to fear of supply shortages. Maybe I will just wait.

Sorry, I know there are about a 1000 Best Buys here in Texas. The one I went to was in Arlington, at 30 and Collins.

I believe they were selling the individual releases at $19.99 and the tin was either $59.99 or $69.99.

Arlington?! Crap, I'll wait, that's too much gas expense.

Though, I guess it wouldn't hurt to check the Frisco store when I get off of work.

They should be $14.99 - 16.99 depending on the store. So better to wait anyway.

Excuse my ignorance, but what exactly is in the tin? Is it a Best Buy exclusive?

The tin itself is the exclusive; inside are the same DVDs you'll find everywhere else...

Actually this should have plenty of incidents where the street date is broken by many merchants because it's Star Wars and many believe that this is already been released on dvd. Some could be unaware that this is something new, except that the packaging is different and what not. I would have been totally surprised if nothing was reported. Anyway, glad to see some here have gotten it early.

Went to a local K-mart yesterday and saw all the new Star Wars DVD's in both widescreen and full frame. $19.99 each. Seems like a number of retailers are jumping the gun in getting these out.

The tin is a little bit like the BoB (band of brothers) tin but a little less in the quality. Better than the video game Prey limited edition tin i will say that.

Does the tin hold the standalone DVD cases, or is it using a separate storage system?
