In case you don't read the other threads.... Crocodile Hunter dies in freak accident

The title says it all.... Steve Irwin "The Crocodil Hunter" was killed in a freak stingray accident. RIP Steve, your show was groundbreaking and I actually laughed while watching your movie. 44 is WAY too young to go.
Oh, and they can't locate his wife yet cause she's out hiking, so she doesn't even know he's dead yet.

Here's the news:

These type of guys always seem to get killed by the animals they champion.
Too bad, I always thought the guy was pretty cool.

My wife and I are absolutely stunned; he was awesome. It wasn't so long ago that I, a grown man with (at that time) no children, had received the DVD of THE CROCODILE HUNTER: COLLISION COURSE as a gift from my wife with pride. Celebrities die every day, but this one just seems so unreal...

I'm shocked but I'm not. He put his neck out there so many times....I'm just amazed it wasn't by a croc

I'd like to hear from someone in Australia about how big the news is down there.

Strong Agreement.

Loved his show, and highly respected him and his work. Very sad indeed.

I'm also surprised that it wasn't by a crock. He always got a little too close to them. Still, it's incredibly sad, and I feel terrible for his family.

Rest in peace, Steve.

I suppose it kind of makes sense that it wasn't a croc or snake or something. Even though he looked reckless, he was pretty good about being in control. This just seemed more like a 1 in a million type fluke. (have they said yet if he was interacting with the ray, or was it hidden at the bottom?)
