It's a definite audience pleaser good time party type of film(those in attendence had a ball with it). And the film is very funny in spots(and intentionally so). It's perfect Halloween entertainment in the Dead Alive, From Dusk Til Dawn, Evil Dead 2 style.

Good to hear. Yeah, that's one of the things that really annoys me about PGL. The films ultimately don't get "released". I'd like to see how the films do in the real world -- with a major theatrical release, chance at decent box office, wide critical response, etc.
Why does Pulse get a theatrical release, but Feast doesn't? People go see these movies because they like horror flicks. They could have released Feast wide on 2000+ screens (like Pulse) and pulled in the the same $15-20 million that flick made. Probably more, if they released it closer to the Halloween holiday and played up the PGL angle in the press.

For the record, Box Office Mojo reports the film made $54,556 over the weekend. Its meager $373 per screen average is not great, but considering it got only two showings per screen over the whole weekend where most of the other films were getting about 12-18 shows in...

I saw "Feast" this week on DVD and really had a good time with it. It's a damn shame the studio absolutely failed to give it any kind of real backing. I agree with some of the other posters, "Feast" would've done fairly well at the box office, especially at this time of year. Anyway, I hope the DVD sells well. I believe Gulager did a tremendous job as a first time director.

ugh.
if like a movie just to see blood and gore but not funny and no plot
then this is for you
i barely kept myself awake while watching this thing.

I watched it yesterday and I loved it. Its one of the few great pull-no-punches splatter fests. If they had release this movie in theatres, it would've been heavily edited and cut down.

I enjoyed Feast a lot more than I thought I would. There was a good mix of humor along with great gobs of gore... and hot women (well, except one. heh). Considering the budget, I think they pulled it off very nicely.

I loved all the stuff in PGL about how they were all surprised when Krista Allen wouldn't do any nudity, after all the Emmanuelle stuff she'd done. Even when everybody was P.O.'d at Gulager, there was still common ground about that!

I'd say,if you hire an actress(or actor) that's required to do some nudity in a scene or two,and they take the job,and refuse to do the nudity. To fire their ass and replace them with someone willing to do their job!

Same here, I thought it was great! Too bad they didn't release this in a wider relase, with proper marketing I think it could have done well.

I just watched the unrated version for the first time. And I think despite the complaints over the fast editing of the action sequences. That they're slightly less speedy than in the R rated version!
Since I could tell much easier what was going on,than in the R version where I was confused as hell.
I never knew a monster cock got castrated until Gulager made the 'neutured' comment for example in theaters. Meanwhile the monster cock in the door being sliced off is very obvious in the dvd unrated version. And knowing what that thing flopping around on the floor is,is more obvious than the confusion I felt in theaters assuming it was just a severed arm at first since it was all happening too fast.
Now it may be my imagination and I was just paying closer attention to the fast sequences, taking in as much as possible. But it certainly seemed more obvious what was going on compared to the theatrical version, where everything felt at light speed in the action pieces.
Also the running time of the film is 86 minutes including the credits. Yet every source I've seen for the film has listed it incorrectly. Theatrical listsings claimed 95 minutes, while the dvd package says 92 minutes. But it's really 86 minutes.
Anyway the film is alot of fun,and I'm glad I was less confused in the action scenes than I was in theaters.

Just watched this movie thru Netflix and loved it! Some very funny dialogue, fast paced and plays a lot with conventional horror film themes.
A couple of the lines that had me rolling:
Awesome.
I also felt that they could have left in the few deleted scenes that are on the dvd but am glad they did not go with the alternate ending.
I went in knowing nothing about the film or even that it was involved in Project Greenlight but walked away very pleased. It beats the fuck out of many of the recent horror films I have been watching the last few weeks. If you liked From Dusk Til Dawn, Shaun of the Dead and Cabin Fever...this movie is for you.

I watched this last night and loved it. It could have been a big money-maker if they would have given it a chance. It was funny and fast-paced. I never felt like this was a waste of time. I predict this will be a huge cult classic.

I enjoyed this so much I watched it again this weekend. This the first time I have ever watched a movie again so soon after a first viewing. It really held up again and I must say that this is THE horror movie of the year for me.

Any word on whether they're going to fix the jerkiness of the action scenes? Seems like all the action scenes had a weird "jerkiness" quality to it. Like every 3rd frame was removed or something.
