I had no plans really to upgrade this, but late November (11/21 or 11/28 - 2006) or early December (12/05 or 12/12 - 2006) makes more sense for them to push the date up to, but 12/19/2006 really would be an ideal street date if you ask me for this release. However, Paramount has a track record of delaying catalogue titles for quite some time, so wisely hold onto your current Scrooged dvds until further notice.

So any word at all on this release? Is it still delayed, or been rescheduled?, some online sites still have the release date set for 10/31/2006 and are taking preorders.

Blockbuster (the store where I work) still has it coming out on October 31 with 2 on order.
What does that mean? NOTHING. Because Blockbuster is wrong all the time about release dates.

This surely looks like a bust to me, no release on 10/31/2006, Axelmusic.com has it listed as coming out 12/31/2025. This looked like a sure fire release from the studio with all those specs and extras that were announced. Hopefully this will be announced again and released in time for the Christmas holiday from Paramount.

I bet it still drops sometime before Christmas. The DVD is obviously ready to go. Their marketing dept. has already put out press releases, distributed pics of the cover art, menus, etc. And given that it's a X-Mas movie, it really needs to capitalize on the holiday market. It's not going to sell probably half as many copies if it comes out in March.

What I don't understand is why is it so frigging hard for the studio to issue some sort of release that a previously announced DVD is delayed? Clearly they had no problem announcing the impending release. But then the date passes by and...nothing. Just say anything. "Oops, we screwed up. It ain't coming out now, and we don't know when it will." At least that would show some respect for their consumer.

Yep, could not believe that digitalfreaknyc bumped this thread up on own terms. RobCA, I second that.
Actually, after not knowing wether or not I wanted to double-dip intially, I went back myself weeks ago and realized that I would! because before it had been awhile since I last viewed Scrooged on DVD. I do think as well that this is not coming before the Christmas holdiay this year, and NO it does not surprise me that Paramount has shown no respect for their customers and issued a statement of any kind to let us know that this project is in the toilet for now. I just don't like to be TEASED by a greedy Hollywood studio over a DVD that they announced for release months ago........!
