^Thanks for the news! I wonder if the deleted scene is a musical number. Didn't Marty have a solo song that appeared on the soundtrack but not in the movie?

I do like the T-Bird and Pink Lady idea.

Anyway, this time we should get a good transfer, and keeping the original soundtrack for me is the deciding factor. This is the film that turned me off remixes when I saw it rereleased in the theater. Plus, I'm glad we get the commentary track. I'll buy this release.

I could do with the trailer instead of a Karaoke track.

Does anyone else think Stockyard Channing (Rizzo) looks like a guy in drag, on that new Grease DVD cover?

According to Speedy's Target ad for next week....there IS a Pink Lady jacket. Don't know if it's only available at Target or what but...there is an option.

My wife wants me to get BOTH editions now! We're gonna give the extra Grease DVD to her mom and put the extra jacket on Grease 2.

Oy.

Whoops. Just went by the thread title date. Didn't see a mention of the change in the thread (but I never had much success with reading comprehension)

It is not Dinah Manoff who sings it on the soundtrack (it is Cindy Bullens), but in the original show Marty sings "Freddy My Love" about her Marine boyfriend. In the movie that would have to occur during the sleepover between "Look At Me, I'm Sandra Dee" and "Hopelessly Devoted to You".

Hmm... I'm just trying to think to whom I could give away my previous version. $11.99 on sale next week is going to be tough to not double-dip with those additional features.

Has anybody heard if the Coke signs are stilled blurred out in the new edition or if they have removed the blur, or at least replaced/touched it up to make it look better?

I love the music, the movie's okay, but I still can't get over how 'old' all the actors were playing 'teenagers'... looking forward to the new version.

You think that's bad?!?!? Steve McQueen as a teenager in THE BLOB takes the cake!

Stockard Channing (Rizzo) looks like a man in drag in the movie too. She pretty much looks like that in general.

Just checked the Fracis Rizzo's review & think I might now give this one a pass. I was really looking forward to the deleted scenes, but he says they're just extensions or alternate takes of what is already in the film. Plus they're in black & white!

That plus they re-used the horrible audio mix from the last release......oh well.

The packaging seemed like a cool idea, but I think I'll just hold out for the inevitable HD DVD release of this. I suspect it'll come sooner, rather than later.

I had asked jigga about it and he said no.

Damn.

Damn, damn, damn.

I'll still probably hold out. But knowing this makes it tougher.

That was a major disappointment. But the video looks a lot better (though looks like it lost some detail) so that makes it a "buy" for me.... plus that damn jacket

Ashame that Olivia couldn't have done a commentary. That would have been amazing.

Wonder if they will restore the stuff they blacked out in the diner.

FYI, the Target ad says the Pink Ladies jacket is exclusive to Target.
