Is there anything not being ported over?
The new back cover says memories from John and Olivia, while the original has retrospective interviews with more people, but I thought possibly this was the same feature and they were only highlighting John and Olivia on the back cover.
The only other feature is the original theatrical trailer and it does say "much much more," so that could be there as well.
Does anyone know for sure?
Thanks.

Actually, I can tell you how they come up with the names. I'm on a survey panel, actually get paid, to help choose DVD covers. I am under contract not to talk about the items before they are released, but once its already decided & done with its ok.
(I also did surveys for Big Mama's House, Ice Age, Ice Age 2, some action flicks here & there, and I also get to preview ads for movies MONTHS before they are aired on TV.)
They have a bunch of people on their staff brainstorm ideas for promotion titles & ads, cover artwork, etc... THEN, they survey people on selected panels to choose from several different covers, different commercials, titles, what do we think of catch phrases that describe this, that, & the other.
Then, they pool all that research & decide from that what will finally make the cut.
Oh, and I get to preview commercials for meds & stuff too. There's a commercial on TV right now for a medicine that has to do with blood pressure or something. Anyway, the words are spelled out on an EKG. I got to do that survey & what's interesting is that the ad previous to what is on TV now showed the EKG as just being way too bright. It was distracting. I commented that they shouldn't have it be a bright greenish color, but change it to something that would get the consumer's attention & yet not be so distracting so as to render void the message they are getting accross. I suggested orange & that's what they went with.
(btw, I got invited to this survey panel. Its by invitation only. There are survey panels online you can sign up with openly, but the movies & commercial stuff I got invited to be a part of due to my participation in some other programs a few years ago. If they do have open calls for more participation, though, they let current members know to invite their friends, but they do not advertise it openly. So, should that happen & anybody here want to influence DVD covers, theater preview promos & whatnot, I'll let y'all know. )

Great cover, they had to make it different from the 1st release on dvd, though I prefer the vintage feel and look of the 1st cover with that classic Grease pic (Travolta and Newton-John). I won't be upgrading though.

And, what the hell is up with the commentary track. I think I read about that being recorded about 5 years ago. It *still* isn't being included? Did someone insult the Pope during the recording or something?

I like how they include "a collection of memorable moments from the 25th anniversary DVD launch party"

I've just confirmed that the DVD will have a commentary track with director Randal Kleiser and choreographer Patricia Birch. I've also updated the other extras, so do check 'em out!
