X3: R1 SE in the works
 

I don't know if this was mentioned(I didn't read the entire thread), but I think people already know that it was coming - According to IGN.com, the director is currently working on special edition of the film for R1 now.

so hold on, if you don't want to double dip.

I don't think there's really anything else for him to "work on". The special features are already finished...just look at the R3 2-disc edition coming out Oct 2:

You don't have to wait at all. Go region-free and order the R3 from cd-wow for $14.95. That's probably cheaper than what the R1 2disc will cost later down the road, and you'll have it now.

That ign interview has the director saying that he does not intend to recut the movie so don't expect an extended edition. doesn't sound like he is adding much at all. only way he can get me to buy the se is if he includes a lot more and better deleted scenes and alternate endings such as cyclops waking up in a hospital and jean's tomb being empty etc. I doubt he's going to do that though.

Also, IGN has the 4 deleted scenes/alternate version on the dvd. the house battle is pretty good and the beast clip is a bit funny.

For the R1 release? My guess would be about ten to eleven months. I'm still waiting for the inevitable FF two discer, after all it is 20th Century Fox we're talking about. Anyway, I'll also pass on the current release and wait for the two discer.

will the 2disc R4 have DTS? i really like that tin from ezydvd.com.

Which will be a part of the eventual 2-Disc Special Edition in the near future.

Anyone know how the 3-movie box set will be packaged? If I remember collectly, not all of the films were released in keepcases.

According to Speedy's Target thread, it seems like Target is going to get an exclusive tin dvd case with four cards and a reprint copy of X-Men #1 and that is going to be 22.99. Waiting for the double dip is getting really hard!

OK. I've been looking around at what's the difference in the number of deleted scenes between the different region dvds.

So far, I think the US DVD will have 10 deleted scenes and 3 alternate endings set up like this:
1. Xavier voice-over for main titles
2. Jimmy in Laboratory
3. Alternate version: Beast meets Logan
4. Pyro tells Magneto about the cure announcement - clean shaven version
5. Pyro tells Magneto about the cure announcement - bearded version
6. Alternate version: Guard yells at the President
7. Extended fight sequence at Jean Grey's house
8. Alternate version: Here's Juggy
9. Magneto tortures Logan
10. Extended Dark Phoenix destruction

11. Alternate version: Rogue returns
12. Alternate ending: New School Year begins
13. Alternate ending: Logan returns to Alberta, Canada

And the dvds in other regions should have these in addition to the above.

1. "PSYCHIC BATTLE" - VOICES

What I'm curious about is if that dvd is going to be setup to run different deleted scenes through the brotherhood/take a stand menu screen rather than just showing them all together.

Just wait on the Wal-Mart disc. Just like the FF Bonus Disc, it'll be a cut-down version of the documentary that'll be on the 2-Disc Special Edition.


OR go Region Free and get it now.

Plus, I'm betting that you won't get the bonus disc at Wal-Mart if you buy the Deluxe Edition with the book... :/
