i believe thats what the more expensive version of the dvd is here in the states too. amazon has the 'stan lee collector's edition' which is the regular one-disc + some book

If you read Francis's review properly, the X3 DVD will have both Dolby Digital 5.1 EX and DTS 6.1 ES audio. Some sites, when they got the information about the DVD release, accidentally put both Dolby Digital 5.1 and Dolby Digital 6.1 EX tracks as the audio specs.

BTW, does anyone know how many scene selections the DVD will have?

Oh hell, I was going to skip this one for the time being... but Amazon has the regular edition (without the comic) for 50% off right now. I think I'm pulling the trigger. :)

I'm not sure if you guys know but Walmart is going to have a bonus dvd with X3. It seems like it's only going to be available only with the regular edition. From what it says, it includes over 50 minutes of behind the scenes footage. Not bad at all if you ask me.

Damn them. I guess I'll have to buy two copies then. I guess I'll give one away. ;)

Sounds like they're doing what they did with Fantastic Four...offered a cut-down version of the documentary that's on the R2 2-Disc FF DVD. It was even 50 minutes long (as opposed to 90 minutes).

If you wait long enough, they'll eventually bring that 2-Disc version of X3 to Region 1 and you can get the full version of the documentary.

Or you could go Region Free.

You can also buy it for $9.99 but it appears to be a limited time only and is not a product they normally carry. I saw them with the signs for pre-ordering X-men 3 around the new release section of my store.

I don't plan on buying the movie but will likely pick up this comic collection.

They had the same thing for Chronicles of Narnia and V For Vendetta.

They get the regular 2 disc edition, then give you the special case seperatley. It's a steelbook, and is pretty cool.

Are you sure about Narnia? I have the steelbook for V for Vendetta but I don't recall Future Shop doing one for Narnia.

YEp future shop did one for Narnia. That price for X-men 3 will probably go down before the 3rd. I've noticed that the discs are always priced higher than they should be before the release date on that site.

Just to confirm there definately was a steelbook case for narnia, underworld evolution and v for vendetta. Has it been confirmed that canada is getting the two disc? I was checking the futureshop website and it claims it's just the 1-disc.

actually, i just tried this today, after waiting a few minutes, because the cashiers had no idea how to do a pre-order, i got the comic collection for $5 +tax. i'm still not sure if i'm going to pick up the DVD.

also, their pre-order system is pretty weak. They dont ask for your name, phone number, anything, its just "hold on to that reciept".

So was it in their system that they asked for $5 to hold it or did you have to tell them that was the usual amount and they just accepted that? Sometimes the BB people are pretty clueless.

^ it will ring up at $10, but once they put in the SKU # (which no one at this store had...they had to call another store to get it...) it'll ring up $5 and the pre order will be on your receipt. They never asked me if i wanted to put any more money towards the dvd or anything. I think $5 is their base pre-order price.

Korea (Region 3 NTSC) will be getting a Steelbook. Yes, I know it´s an International release, but I thought members might be interested in this version. A region free player is a must, but can often be done with a "hack" code optained on the internet. Anyhow, it looks very cool.

I've never purchased dvds from other regions. Do dvds from other regions include language other than english on the menus and the covers?

i believe the best buy pre-order can also be refunded after a certain date if you don't pick the movie up...

You appear to be correct according to the pre-order ticket rules. But will they ask for the free X-men collection back? Do they just chalk that up as a loss? Strange rules and you are doing nothing wrong by taking advantage of it. Best Buy set it up this way. Weird.

I picked up my copy last night and checked it out. The collection is done exactly like the other comic collections released by marvel. It has them grouped by year from 2001 to 2006 and then the one annual. It also has an extensive "bio" list of the various characters. Very nice collection and well worth the 5 bucks (or possibly free) if you are a comic book fan.

I hated the movie (actually I dislike all 3 of the Xmen movies) and had no intent of going back and picking this up. I may try to get the 5 bucks back after 10-17-06 as the rules say and see what happens out of curiosity.

They do make a point that the the $5 is toward the purchase of the DVD, not just for the preorder item.
