M. Polo, I like your set up. A very nice collection with some excellent choice pieces (we obviously like V for Vendeta and Sin City, I have that same book). Now and again I think we all have to make cuts the collection to make room for new stuff.
I really like the TV stand aswell.
MrStayPuft , thanks for the pics. Quite a nice addition to any collection.

Spoiler for Season 3? Hehe, they just started shooting the show on Aug. 7th, does this mean sawyer dies?

God I'm too obsessed with Lost. That's really cool that you got your dvd signed by Holloway though.

M Polo 08-11-06 02:35 PM

Sorry, my uncle left the show not J. Holloway, hehe so no spoilers. My uncle started in movies like Hudsucker Proxy, GO, 21 Grams, Mothman Prophecies, etc. and I guess he was bored of living in Hawaii and working for one of the top show's on TV, lol so he's moved back to L.A. to work in movies again. Thanks Slater, I'd like to get a few more V for Vendetta related items in the same vein as you. I have quite a few Sin City items but I haven't had a chance to get them all up and displayed as I just moved in to my current house.

Hows the popcorn taste? We are currently looking for one and this looks perfect. I want one that also makes good tasting popcorn. And how much was this

WOW!!!!!

This is the best set up i have ever seen!!!!

i was just wondering if you were going to buy some more shelves to put more stuff on!!!!

also have you used the fight club soap bar yet, if so do it lather up nicely?

and does your batman batarang come back to you when you throw it?

jdslater1 08-12-06 03:13 PM

Cheers Diehardest13 for your comments. Since I took those pics I have added some spotlights and moved some stuff around. The Sin City Stuff looked abit cramped on the smaller shelfs. I now have a V for Vendetta shelf also. I might buy some extra shelfs I will have to see what comes out in the near future. I might lose the Blade shelf because I think it looks abit crap.
The soap is resin and weighs a ton, so I suppose I could use it as a weapon. I haven't thrown the Batarangs yet, can't get the angle!

mzupeman2 08-12-06 08:59 PM

You probably answered this already jdslater but where can I buy shelving units like that and about how much do they cost? Necessary to buy online? Or can you find those in a store? And I don't really mean the ones with the doors on them, just the bookshelf lookin' units.

jdslater1 08-13-06 05:02 AM

mzupeman2, they are just Billy shelfs from IKEA, the thing with the doors is I had that unit and doors first. Then as I cannot deny what I am (a collector!) I bought the extra units. I also bought an extra 2 shelf per unit and then drilled my own holes to have more shelf space. If you want to get doors, don't get those style! The frame is too thick and kinda hides whats behind them, I would say get doors because I think some things look better behind glass but IKEA do these really nice thin metal frames. They look alot better.

mzupeman2 08-13-06 08:03 AM

No IKEA around me, bummer. Ill see if maybe I can order them...

We just ordered our carpet, our rooms been in the works for over 2 years and we are getting ready to get the equipment. We are getting a 92" screen with a Sanyo Z4 Projector, SVS SBS-01 7.1 system (might go with ascends speaker package) and a HD-DVD player.

hi

I've been coming to the forum a lot to see your incredible stuff and decided to joiin in and let you see my very small collection and set up.

I just recently moved in my new house and decided to make the loft my media/film/office room.... A lot of the furniture was my parents and even my grandparents (yes, I'm poor :( ) . I plan on doing this a decent looking room over the next few months.

Font view (will get a new TV soon... this was my grandmother's kitchen TV  . Also notice my alien UK quad that is waiting to be framed.

You don't seem too poor to me. Look great though.

tboogie 08-13-06 02:05 PM

You've made great use of the furniture you do have--get some slipcovers and you'll be fine. I'm also a Lynch fan. I see you have "Boxing Helena" too. Did you find a better edition than the bare bones one available in R1?

Atheist 08-13-06 02:12 PM

hi

thanks for the coments guys.
I have both the R1 and Korean releases of boxing helena... Same thing really... I just got both because they are lynch related. I remeber there was one laserdisc signature series edition that had some bonus stuff and a Cd soundtrack; never managed to get it though..

Willy 08-13-06 04:00 PM

Where did you get that slash dool? Nice

Atheist 08-13-06 06:25 PM

It's one of the figures on Mcfarlanes music series. They have some amazing stuff. Check'em out at www.spawn.com

these are about 2 mts high. They are made in spain and I bought them at FNAC.
they are really cool because you can have them set up for dvd's or cd's exactly as you need.
I think ikea has some models kinda like these...

DVDsAreMyLIFE 08-13-06 08:01 PM

Yea I have been trying to find some nice cases that will fit in a 4ft by 6ft space, that have adjustable shelves with a decent finish, to get rid of these crappy ones I am using now

Darth Oiler 08-16-06 06:56 PM

Atheist - nice setup! What kind of rig are you running, looks like a Music Hall?

What is that Slayer boxset you have?

Patman 08-16-06 09:42 PM

I posted a shot of my cat checking out my collection on Flickr, so here it is, but it's about 2 months out of date and doesn't have about 40 DVDs that have been purchase since then (due to the cheap $4 DVDs from Best Buy, etc).

a lot of those are still wrapped, have you just not gotten to them or did you just buy them to have them sometime in the future

I am dissapointed by the lack of Dark Angel Season 2

Patman 08-17-06 07:30 AM

Best Buy had Dark Angel season 2 for $15 about a month ago, but I was busy and never got around to swinging by there to pick it up.

I admit to having some unwatched DVDs, but most of the films I've seen theatrically and if the mood strikes I'll watch the bonus features. The same goes with the season sets, I've seen most of them on TV, but will pick them up to support the shows that gave me a lot of viewing pleasure over the years, the same goes for a film's DVD. I do try to pick stuff up when it goes on sale. I wish I had more time to watch more stuff, but don't we all.

Here's a tour around the miniplex... It's a little crowded in there with the futon plus two chairs, but hey, you work with what you've got.
