I think the BB case is the best one.

Even though I have the HD-DVD, I ordered the Special edition exclusive from BB with the figure....Is the SE dvd seperate? So, I can sell the SD DVD to my brother or on ebay and keep the slipcase? Will the hd-dvd fit easily in the slipcase with the comic book?

Just trying to get an idea of what kind of packaging it is.

looked at all 3 today... The TARGET one is the best... The Best Buy looks cool, but once U unwrap it and seperate the book then the slipcase won't fit the DVD [the slipcase is too big]... and the CC was blah.

Do you mean that the shrinkwrap fills out the space within the slip cover, and the contents are loose once it's removed?

That's why you just leave the book in the slipcase with the dvd. I did the same thing with the V for Vendetta one.

Well I went to all the stores and looked at the different cases and came to the conclusion that i want the 14 disc set. I did like the target exclusive better than the best buy one though, which is not what i was expecting.

I went with the Best Buy exclusive (thought it was the best packaging overall).

I wish Circuit City would've went the route Target did with it's exclusive The Da Vinci Code (regular 2 disc set along with the bonus disc housed it it's own slimcase all enclosed by an exclusive slipcover). Instead, it looks like the bonus disc is just enclosed in the regular 2 discer (and the exclusive slipcover is far inferior to the coverart of Best Buy and Target, IMO).

Those who bought the Best Buy exclusive: Was the slip cover embossed? I swear I saw one like that, but I didn't realize until much later that the copy I got was flat. Why would some be embossed and some not?

Is it just me or does this movie's transfer look kind of shitty? It looked really grainy and even blurry in some spots to me. I read a few reviews, some saying the transfer was immaculate and some saying it didn't really look that great. Any opinions?

I completely agree. I watched it on my upscaling DVD player on my projector and just thought the pallette looked a little too muted. I know Singer was going for a somewhat film noir look where the light seemed kind of difused, but when the camera was on a head shot up close, the skin just looked a little out of foucs for some reason. Don't get me wrong, I thought it looked good, but a lot of it didn't seem to be as crisp as it should.

It looked like it did when I saw it in the theater this year. A very muted, hazy looking movie. The film was shot in HD cameras, which I think causes some areas to have a bit less contrast. The Reeve films seemed to have a bright, colorful pallette, whereas this one was kinda muddy and drab looking.

Were there a lot of artifacts or digital grain in the theatrical version? The SD DVD was terrible in this regard.

There were two versions of the BestBuy Exclusive Slipcase

The Embosssed and the Non-embossed

Last Tuesday when I visited 3 Bestbuy stores, seems like the embossed ratio is 1 BB Embossed Exclusive out of 8 BB Exclusives.

I've only watched the HD version which was spectacular. I may flip to the DVD side and do some comparisons.

I noticed the poor transfer right away, until I logged on here, I thought there was something wrong with my TV or DVD player

Sounds about right. Went back yesterday to have another look, and found very few of the embossed versions, while they had plenty of the other. Asked a blue shirt about it, and he didn't even realize there was a difference. Would have dug the embossing, but there were no copies in mint condition. So I'm happy with what I have.
