Yeah, very smart Scott, marrying into a family with someone who can and will build you custom dvd shelves. Excellent.

scott_lechter, AWESOME custom shelf, i wish i knew your father-in-law so i can commission one, lol

matt.train, ah, i have one (overpriced) dvd cabinet that closes so it hides my DVD collection too. let's just say that some dvd binders are a little too colorful and might scare away people. although, i also like not having to dust them as much too. my game collection, on the other hand, is in a regular shelf so people are impressed when they see them. ^^

bunkaroo, the potatohead trooper only came out a few months ago, still widely available

Filt,

They are from IKEA. they were not to much, a couple hundred each (i think), its been 4-5 years though.

LeeVing,
The Jam are one of my favorites. Paul Weller's solo stuff is pretty good too.

My HT room and collection

Ok, this is my home theater and DVD collection.

View from door

View from screen

View from top row

Another picture from the top row

Special editions (not all of them of course)

Other wall

A picture of the middle of the collection

Some more of the collection

And the last one

I guess I'm just one of the tacky ones who likes the action figures and stuff. Still, I hope you like the view. It's a cozy place.

Awesome ThriceDamned! Did you do it yourself, or did you hire a professional HT interior decorator/ installer?

The room was done very quickly and very cheaply. A friend of mine, who is extremely handy, did most of the work, although I assisted as I could. The bulk of the work was done in about 3 days altogether, with some finishing touches coming later on. I estimate that (aside from the projector, home theater equipment and collection obviously) I spent all in all about 2k on the room.

We custom built the shelfing, the dropdown ceiling, and the raised platform (which incidentally has 2 subwoofers built in), and of course laid the carpet.

I think that my little home theater room (and it's not large, only about 13sq meters) shows that you don't necessarily have to spend a large amount of money to get a cool little hideaway.

bboisvert: It's a Diabolik comic book that I bought in Milan when I was there a couple of months ago. I just couldn't resist it, it looked too cool for school.

Excellent Home Theater ThriceDamned!!

Are those spots on the pictures a reflection from something? or does the camera need to have the lens cleaned? :-)

It's definitely the camera.

Oh, and thanks for the sentiment

Is this really the best fan you can afford ThriceDamned? I bet it doesn't even oscilate. Why would you invest thousands and thousands of dollars on a home theatre and DVDs then sit in an uncomfortably hot room, with a toy fan. If you want to impress anyone, at least get a decent fan dude.
