I'm game.

But I thought there was a lot more footage available than three episodes worth? I thought around five-six?

I think there is 4 episodes with 20 skits that remain unaired. It'll probably all show up on this disc nonetheless. It's just a shame the show is dead.

Especially since Chappelle said the only way he'd ever come back and do the show again is if they didn't air this stuff.

Which gives me hope in that they are specifically NOT airing them... seems a deliberate compromise to release to DVD.

I will probably buy this. I wonder how it will be priced. A 68 minute disc should be pretty cheap.

That will be the deciding factor for me - price; otherwise, I'm excited - more Chappelle's Show can't be a bad thing.

Yeah, Comedy Central probably won't charge too much for what is likely to be the final release from their cash cow.

Deep Discount DVD has this for $19.xx. If it is just 68 minutes with no other extras hopefully the price will come down a little closer to the release.

That's the same price as Season 1 with ~250 minutes.

slightly off-topic, but other than the original press stating Chapelle's mysterious disappearance and rehab, is there any more recent news that would suggest what happened to his show?

Basically he felt like they were making him do things on the show that he didn't want to do and decided that if he didn't have complete control over the direction the show was going in he wasn't going to do it.

The pressure got to Dave and he went nuts, claiming that everyone was involved in some sort of conspiracy against him. I know it sounds strange, but you have to hear him talk about it to understand just how crazy and paranoid he is.

Dave heard a white guy "laughing too hard" at a sketch in which Dave was wearing blackface and telling black celebrities to act stereotypically.

Basically, yeah, he went nuts.

Wait, the show is completely dead?
I thought they were going to show the unaired episodes (I heard 4-5 too) whilst he made more sketches.

Boo.

I don't think it's fair to say that he "went nuts." Wasn't more of artistic pressure?
