been doing some transfers to dvd-r from vhs. I still buy VHS on never been released movies and usually make transfers Been able to do some trading amongst friends for old vhs and made a pretty good collection thus far.

some recent stuff

Nasty Rabbit
Terror Eyes
Deranged (1972)
TMNT Coming out of their shells tour
Slaughter high
Rock & Roll Wrestling Women vs. The Aztec Mummy
Plutonium Baby
Sex & Violence Family Hour
Twilight Of the cockroaches
Morgan Stewart's Coming Home
mikey
short eyes
jetsons the movie
mouse & the motorcycle

And as far as Blax goes, I have a good chunk of the stuff they have released. Most of the prints are on par with goodtimes/brentwood type releases. pretty rough but watchable.

Jetsons the Movie never got a DVD release? How odd. I used to love that.

I just remembered David Lynch's 'Hotel Room' 'On The Air' and 'Industrial Symphony No. 1' are all VHS only.

The only one I can think of I badly want but isn't on DVD is Mika Kaurismäki's "The Last Border".

*Glacing over at my tiny little VHS shelf*

The Stepfather (1987) (one of the best horror films of the 80s)
The Gate of Heavenly Peace (1995) (Tiananmen Square documentary)
A Woman of Affairs (1928) (Greta Garbo's greatest silent-film performance)
Hard Target (1993) (John Woo, the director's cut of course)
School on Fire (1988) (Ringo Lam flick)
Drunken Master II (1994) (the original version)
Macross: Do You Remember Love? (1985) (in region 1)
Pedicab Driver (1989) (one of Sammo Hung's best)
Greed (1924) (von Stroheim, the restored version)

Also, the David Lynch works previously mentioned: Hotel Room, On the Air (terrible show, but it had Miguel Ferrer), and Industrial Symphony #1.

Go region free. There's several releases floating around, but only the R2 German DVD (available from XPloitedCinema) is in the proper 16X9 aspect ratio

That got an uncut DVD release, though not R1. I think that's the same movie.

I remember seeing this in PBS probably ten years ago. I'd love seeing it again, especially since it was filmed in Iowa.

Aren't those available in the UK, though?

Ditto on Macross: DYRL, though. That films needs an english-subbed DVD period.

"The Stepfather" will probably be released when the remake is released either later this year or early 2009.

The MGM Midnite Release right? I believe that version is cut compared to the German PAL release.

Easily found though and at not a bad price.

I've only seen the that particular release of the film and that was pretty damn disturbing if i remember correctly, so i hate to see what they actually cut out.

Did a ctrl+f for "Angus" didn't find it, so I'll throw that onto the pile. I only saw it on a train once, over ten years ago but I still remember it. Only available on VHS, and I believe its due to mixed up rights.

I wasn't a big collector of VHS, but the only VHS tape I have that hasn't made it to R1 dvd is the theatrical version of The Last of the Mohicans.
