Fox Five Star Collection

Does anyone have a complete list of the movies that were in the Five Star Collection?

I know of a few:

Die Hard
Die Hard 2
Die Hard With A Vengeance
French Connection I
French Connection II
Independence Day
Speed
Speed 2???

Die Hard
French Connection I
Independence Day
Speed
Sound of Music
MASH
Cleopatra

Die Hard 2 (not five star)
Die Hard With A Vengeance (not five star)
French Connection II (not five star)
Speed 2 (not five star)

There may still be a few more - that is what I could think of off the top of my head.

Thats all of them speedyray. Yeah Die Hard 2 and 3 came in a boxset with Die Hard Five Star in similar keep cases...they are basically a Five Star without the label. The French Connection II and Speed 2 were both single disc releases as far as I know though.

Moulin Rouge and Fight Club, if I remember correctly, were both going to be called Five Star DVDs when originally announced, but they were later switched to their Digipack style boxes. I guess you could consider them unofficial Five Stars, kinda like the Die Hards.

The Abyss was supposed to be a Five Star edition, if I'm not mistaken.

There was also a lot of talk about the original Planet of the Apes being released in one of it's incarnations as a Fox Five Star edition.

Big Trouble in Little China was another "unofficial" one.

If I'm not mistaken there was a Patton 2 disc 5 star edition prior to the single disc release.

A few years ago, some of us custom DVD cover artist made an actual 5 Star template that could be used to create covers for other films that were not included in the 5 Star line, but were probably supposed to be so.
I remember seeing Big Trouble, Planet of the Apes and so on made as custom covers.

It's like The Abyss, it doesn't say Five Star on it.

That's interesting, but where would you get that special shiny paper to match the "official" five stars?

You can buy gold and silver foil paper. It's not exactly the same, but it would give you a similar effect.

I saw French Connection and M*A*S*H at Target for 14.99
they weren't in 5* boxes. they had some thing called Cinema Selection ?
but it was a slipcase, and the 2 disc 5star edition inside.

single width case, not double

Probably repackaging the five star edition 2 discs in the cinema selection? I still prefer the shiny five star artwork and silver cases.
