I think this is the dubbed version, it makes no mention of having original Italian language track anywhere (unless I missed it, I really barely looked at the box and am relying on my flawed memory). I have some time to procrastinate since my review is not due till June 13th

Okay, that makes sense. It's rather obvious that many languages are being spoken, perhaps I shouldnt have used the term dubbing.
BTW, is it true that back in the day that Italian movies were shot "silent" and the voices were dubbed in in post production? I seem to recall hearing that somewhere. I doubt they do that currently (or do they?).

Whether anyone still does this I'm not sure.

As for which one Soavi prefers, I have no clue. However, I have no problem putting both the English and Italian tracks on equal "official" footings.

I saw a few at my local Best Buy ($15.xx though), so if you want it early then check out your local Best Buy as well. I held off because I'm going to buy it in the DDD sale.

I've held off on buying this movie for too long.
I have a region-free player. Should I get the Anchor Bay version or the R2 PAL Medusa version. How does the image quality on both DVDs differ?

Not sure if this'll be a YMMV....
I found one copy of "Cemetery Man" at my local (South Hills) Pittsburgh FYE this evening. It was marked $14.99, but rang up for $11.99 at the register.

I can't vouch for DVDMANIACS, nor whether those screengrabs are accurate depictions of the transfers. If they are, then there appear to be some trade-offs with either choice, although on-balance the Medusa release looks better to me than Anchor Bay's. AB's transfer certainly appears contrast-boosted in those grabs (the whitest whites in a couple of shots look blown-out to me). As well, the blacks have a tendency toward grey in the AB release. On the other hand, the AB might be a tad sharper than the Medusa, but this apparent sharpness can be a function of the boosted contrast, and appear more like noise when the frames are in motion (like edge enhancement).
However, I've seen comparisons on non-Beaver sites before where the contrast was blown out of wack because the guy doing the screengrabs didn't know what he was doing and applied his own screwed-up "calibration" (I recall, in particular, a "House of Flying Daggers" comparison). So, unless someone else can vouch for this site, caveat viewer or something.
PS: I also like the fact that the Medusa has the Italian soundtrack.
PPS: I also really really prefer the original title.
