Anybody interested in Cemetery Man? - 6/13/06

Not sure if this has been posted already, but www.ign.com is reporting Anchor Bay will be releasing Cemetery Man on June 13. Features include a widescreen presentation, Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound, and a collection of bonus materials. The single-disc DVD will be available for the MSRP (Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price) of $19.98. The DVD will feature the following extras: Documentary: "Death is Beautiful: The Making of Cemetery Man" - featuring interviews with cast and crew, including director Michele Soavi, star Anna Falchi and more, a Michele Soavi Bio, and Trailers. It's about time!

I'll get it.

mbs 04-07-06 09:54 PM

I have the medusa R2. I'm very happy with that disc, but depending on the R1 quality and disc content, I may upgrade.

Peep 04-07-06 10:01 PM

I'll believe it when I see it.

Fincher Fan 04-07-06 10:12 PM

How many release dates have we had now? I've been waiting years to finally pick this up and I look forward to its eventual release but, as Peep said, I'll believe it when I see it.

IamLegend 04-07-06 10:13 PM

I'll definetely, probally, maybe, lilkely wait till they release the 2 disc collector "Anchor bay "double dip edition" that will surely come out a few months later...

jones 04-07-06 10:32 PM

Yes. It has been way to long...

zombiezilla 04-07-06 10:35 PM

I, too, will believe it when I see it....but I'll buy it when it comes!

tofferman 04-07-06 10:40 PM

I'm wondering if it will be the edited U.S. version or the European release. I'm sure someone on this board knows about the differences. Anna Falchi =

RATRUNICK 04-07-06 10:47 PM

I wish they wouldn't toy with my emotions like this. I'll end up waiting for it again, and never seeing it.

garmonbozia 04-08-06 04:34 PM

If it actually comes out this time, I will be getting it......

marty888 04-08-06 09:01 PM

Another skeptic here - I'll believe and buy when/if it actually happens!

I've also got this release, and the transfer is probably good enough for me. I may double-dip, depending on extras. I would love a commentary, even if it is just the Italian one with subtitles.

This is practically my last holy grail. And dammit, I want the European cut. I don't know if Anchor Bay's decision to use Cemetery Man as the title instead of Dellamorte Dellamore is any indication that we're getting the US cut.

But yes, I'll echo the sentiments of others: I'll believe this when I have the DVD in my hand.

cajun_junky 04-20-06 11:02 AM

Never heard of it but it looks like the type of movie I would like!!!

Kudama 04-20-06 12:58 PM

Got the laserdisc, but would upgrade if it came out. It would be nice to have the Euro cut, but I'll still get it regardless.

Dazza 04-20-06 01:10 PM

Saw this years ago on VHS after waiting a long time for it to come out. Will seriously think about getting it, if it does actually get released...

Dazza.

It will on June 13, 2006 :)

There is no difference between the European and US release except for the title. There is nothing cut or missing from the US print. When Fox put out the VHS and laserdisc in the US, they used a PAL-speed transfer, thus creating a slightly shorter running time.

Ghostface180 04-20-06 03:02 PM

I've never seen it but I'll definitely be blind buying it based on the great word of mouth.

Really? That's excellent news. Of course, I've never seen another cut other than the version I saw in the theater. How rumors do fly because I've been hearing about this cut for years. If there's no other cut then I can rest easier knowing I won't have anything to complain about unless the damn movie doesn't get released again.

...but then the name Dellamorte Dellamore is just so much cooler than Cemetery Man. I do have something to complain about! Until I find a better cover online anyway. :)

canaryfarmer 04-21-06 10:04 AM

Anchor Bay should give it a reversible cover with Cemetery Man on the one side and Dellamorte Dellamore on the other. Everybody wins!

And Ana Falchi is mind-numbingly stunning in this.

Is the movie's on-screen title different? If so, they could do an alternate angle option for that (doubt it will happen).

Phibes 05-16-06 09:56 PM

I'm working on a review of Cemetery Man for a different website. 103 min. running time according to my DVD players counter. Cemetery Man as the title on the film. Cemetery Man : Dellamorte Dellamore on the DVD menu. Nice 28 min. docu and there is not talk about a different cut in it, they do mention that it flopped in US theaters. Supposed to be out in June for everybody ;)

PS..Running time listed on packaging is 99 mins.

Fincher Fan 05-17-06 05:46 AM

^ Thanks, Phibes! How's the picture and audio quality?
